Vick pleads guilty

I am DEAD serious.

They are dogs. If they were PEOPLE I would be outraged. But they are not.

I think it's fucked up and he should be jailed for his crime for being so FREAKING DUMB but I know of crimes that are far worse that go unpunished every single day so I am not so moved over this one.

As I said, we can agree to disagree.

Killing dogs = not such a big deal.

Killing/raping/fucking up people = VERY BIG DEAL.

There are two issues here. The cruelty he expressed towards animals most assuredly expressed itsself in his dealings with humans.

I agree to an extent that more people care about a dumb dog than an unborn child or a kid on the streets or in an abusive home, but for me the equation is this;

Killing dogs = very big deal.

Killing/raping/fucking up people = DEATH PENALTY MATERIAL

I think one can be both upset with Vick and his killing of innocent dogs and STILL hate the animals that prey on children and women.

I am as hard-core as it comes to crimes against children, but I can still be angry with Vick's brutality and I hate PETA and animal rights whack jobs, bt Vick's crimes were especially heinous.

Again many people who abuse animals will abuse humans.

Who knows who his next victim may have been, PLUS a big factor here is the man was so blessed and yet he continued to live the thug life and maintained his arrogant disregard for the law all while being paid over ONE HUNDRED MILLION dollars to play a sport that he really wasn't the top dog in (no pun intended)

You need to factor that in as part of the rage that a man who had it all would stoop to such barbaric behavior.

At least that's my view of the issue

not if you hit that rabit in the hind leg.

I find hunting to be inhumane. I think that anyone who enjoys it has an underlying psychological issue. Why do you think Cheney is a fan of shooting defenseless quail!

I don't think anyone should go to prison for it though, no matter how much pleasure they derive from it.

Also, just as a side point, bow hunting is quite popular and there are many non lethal injuries to animals as a result.

You really shouldn't talk on subjects about which you obviously have no clue.

I am a hunter. I must have underlying issues.

Lestat, do you own any leather? Do you eat meat? Do much hunting? Ever even shot a bow?

Then STFU about hunting, you really are just coming off as ignorant.

go ahead and get bent out of shape if you want, but I think hunting is cruel and fucked up. my opinion.

I also know that killing animals as a child is a precursor for serial killers and other deviant behavior.

I'm ignorant on the subject? I've been on enough hunts to know that it makes me feel sick. I can't describe the feeling, its like my mind gets stuck around the image of a wounded animal and replays for hours after the hunt is over.

Very similar to once in high school when I was in a bronco and my friend ran over a dog (an accident) but I was traumatized, couldn't stop thinking about the poor thing.

Same feeling I get from hunting. If you want to take offense at that, go ahead, but keep your ignorant comments to yourself.

Yes I have hunted. Yes I have shot a compound bow.

I am not getting bent out of shape. I didn't claim people had some mental problem if they hunt.

If you don't like to, don't do it then. You did say you went on a "hunt" and none of the meat was eaten? That wasn't a hunt.

Torturing and mutilating animals is one possible trait of a serial killer. I am amazed that you feign such compassion and intelligence, yet you lack basic reasoning skills.

Do us all a favor and stick to picture and good bro threads junior.

1st hunt was a rabbit hunt. People kept the pelts, the sold for 2 bucks at the farmers market. Feet sold well too. Most rabbits shot in the side though, sort of ruined the pelts, cutting off the feet was a treat though. I count that as mutilation myself, but I guess if there is a purpose then its not?

2nd hunt was for deer, none taken, but if they had I can imagine it would have been eaten, people were looking for a trophy head or a set of horns thought primarily. Saw at least one male get hit but take off running never to be seen again that day. Can only imagine what the rest of that magnificent animal's life was like.

Like I said, you have never been on a real hunt and do not know what you are talking about. If you did you would know that the hunt is not about killing.

First off I think it was a bonding/social event for all participants. The idea was to have a good time with the other three people, and practice skills, tracking, marksmanship, etc.

When it came to the actually killing/shooting it seemed to be about the spoils (nice pelt, feet, or antlers) or bragging rights, good tracking, nice shot.
