TRT for long time users

Seems like I have seen many posts by long term users who are on TRT now. Not so much on here but on many other sites. Is it possible to do a couple smart cycles a year for 4-5 years and not end up on TRT? Im just thinking basic 10 week cycles (500-750mg wk)with proper PCT.

With good PCT, absolutely. Though 10 week cycles aren;t exactly "short." And most guys when they get around 50 will need HRT. RADAR is a freak.

I have no desire to go TRT for a long time. your body, as a male, produces testosterone on its own free of charge and with no injection necessary. why anyone would shut that off voluntarily i will never understand. now there are those that for whatever reason have problems producing test and for them TRT is absolutely a good idea even at a young age. but for the rest of us a healthy lifestyle and not abusing steroids with long cycles and huge dosages will ensure you don't need TRT for a long time just like RADAR has proven.

always check your bloods after a cycle/pct to make sure your body is recovering correctly. 50 bucks for a blood test is well worth knowing that everything is going well. don't run cycles back to back without proper recovery time.. don't run huge dosages.. don't run ultra long cycles.. i would keep cycles under 15 weeks total.

Right before my first cycle I had my bloodwork done and I was 317ng/dl. This was sept 1, 2011. Considering doing my own TRT as my doctor is against doing anything unless I'm on the edge of death. Any complications from long term TRT? Besides the obvious testicle shutdown (which I had already before ever doing AAS)... What do you guys think? I'm 30yrs old.

^^^ if i was in your shoes it will be a borderline decision. on one hand 317 is on the low end, on the other its still 317 and if you go on TRT you are wasting an awful lot of testosterone your body is producing at no charge.

i would try my best to improve my lifestyle, work out consistently to stimulate test production.. and continue to monitor my levels over the next few years.. if they continue to drop and get into the 200's i would probably decide that it would be a good idea to go on and get my levels up.

TRT is kinda like getting fake teeth. a buddy of mine never brushed or went to the dentist (he grew up in britain).. finally his teeth became so rotten that he had no choice but to get fake teeth put in. and guess what? when you get fake teeth you still have to take care of them just like they were real.. they still get plaque, they still can break, you still have to floss etc. so take care of what you already have before you are so fast to replace it.

Now the other side of the coin.
Been on TRT since mid 40s. Began TRT way before I started running cycles.
For me its just part of my life and I love the results. On Fridays I inject. Thats it, I just do it.
Wouldnt have it any other way. Oh and mine is not coverd by insurance.

Thanks stevesmi. I'm leaning towards what you say, try and get natural production going again. For a long time I was on a very low cholesterol / fat diet, and I just switched to more eggs and an atkins diet (just for short term to cut). I'm going to get bloods done after this atkins "cycle" and see if my levels improve. I had a cholesterol test and the HDL was less than 15 and the total was less than 100, the machine didn't get a reading so that's what she put. Maybe I'm not getting enough precursors...

thanks again, great advice on here as always!

Test declines naturally in men and in the world today we are inundated with estrogens from plastics, personal care products etc. This puts men in even more of an unfavorable condition as their test natural declines. TRT is a great way to combat this, feel more mentally alert and to keep muscle mass and bone density as we age.

no problem man.. i am about your age too so its easy for me to see where you are coming from

i will tell you this.. when i was in my early 20's i went through a bad couple years where i was depressed (didn't know this at the time but looking back i know i was), my gf dumped me which made things worse.. my diet was very poor. lots of pizza, ice cream, red meat, oreo's, soda, sugars, chocolate/candy, boxed up foods.. my life was work and tv. no sex drive.

although i never tested my levels i would bet that they were very low during this time.. i was very bloated and carrying too much fat. when i was in my late teens i was an athlete so it was easy to transition back to the correct lifestyle.. been obsessed with fitness and nutrition since then and will never go back to that brief dark couple years. I will bet my test levels today off cycle are twice as high as they were in my early 20's.
