Tore My Bicepts Tendon

I tore my inner head bicepts tendon 3 months ago, I had sugury a week and a half after the injury to reattach it. I am still not lifting heavy on curls, was wanting to get feedback on others who have had this injury and were they able to compete again, and when did they start lifting heavy again.

Thanks

I wish you a speedy recovery bro. Just make sure that you are fully healed before going heavy on the lifting.

I didn't have that exact injury but when I tore my pec it was at the insertion with the bicep. I blew out about a silver dollar size in my bicep which has never come back. You must take it very slow in the recovery, I pushed too hard too quick and have had several more tears. I did not have the repair done until about a year later, so you will be better off. The thing that I notice the most is that once I fatigue my pecs or bi's...I'm done. There is no more 'feel the burn', no stamina what so ever.

Good luck

No biggy bro ...it will come back and may even be stronger as they often reattach it lower down on the humeral head(better leverage)
How did you tear it?

Dorian tore his bicep ancdcame back. No doubt it will have a different look probably but you should get atleast 90% of your strength back atleast seeing you had the surgery not long after the accident. It's when you wait more than 2-3 months to have the surgery you can worry..at that point the scar tissue has formed and that can make a big difference to the succession of the surgery.

Hey Realgains, I did it on a preacher bench doing heavy curls, I have heard since then thats to most common way of tearing one, I will never go heavy on a preacher bench again.
