Thinking about starting body building

I'm 17 and going to be a senior. The reason I'm so lean is because I tried eating healthy and being a vegetarian (on and off) for two years.

No, I'm not joking with this thread. I've been a scrawny guy all my life, and I want to change that.

And with the subway question, I was being serious as well. I wanted to know which meats/combination of meats (double meat)+veggies would be best? This could also help me if I'm making a snack for myself at home or something.

all your life, hell you are only 17????

man oh man, i don't even know where to start. first off if you are that lean just eat like hell, hell eat whatever you want, who cares about calories, you body is likely burning them so fast it doesnt matter. So find you someone to train with, learn how to lift weights and just EAT EAT EAT AND EAT SOME MORE. i still don't know why you are on an anabolic board with these questions, PLEASE do NOT EVEN THING of using steroids right now, NOTHING could be worse for you at your present situation

wow, you just decide you want to be a bodybuilder one day at 155lbs and 6' tall so you immediately come to an anabolics discussion board......man oh man

whats the deal with guys now days

well, for one thing, steroid talk is all over the news, now it is in the open that most if not all pro athletes take or have taken them. So there is going to be more interest . . . . right?

bro..vegetarian and bodybuilding dont mix...thats why your so damn lean....you just really need to start eating like recommended start with 5-6 meals a day and eventually add more..you need alot or protein and complex carbs...lean meats, fish, chicken, tuna, eggs...carbs: whole wheat bread, pasta, brown rice, potatoes, yams....etc...

I will tell you from experience. Forget all the bullcrap you hear about eating healthy and eating tuna, chicken breast, rice, ect...... That is only if you are dieting. You are about the size I was when I started, and it took me years to learn that I had to eat everything in sight. Pizza, burgers, milkshakes, ice cream, fried chicken, fast food, ect. If you want to get big, you have to take in calories. And you aren't going to do that eating healthy and taking just protein.

I would eat about 4 big high calorie meals a day, and take about 2-3 meal replacements shakes or mass calorie shakes supplements a day. If you are working out hard, you will burn off the fat that may come on with the bad foods, because you have a high metabolism anyways. Forget about cardio and running. Lift heavy weight for low reps. Eat your a$$ off. Seriously. getting in all the calories you can, no matter where they come from, are vital for someone that is thin and lean. Don't worry about juicing until you put on about 20 lbs naturally and hit a big plateau of unable to make good gains anymore, and have a solid base.

For you, right now is going to be all about eating, calories, and lifting heavy weight about 5-6 days a week. You have to put on mass right now, don't worry about fat, you can diet later. You have to have the calories and fuel to make big gains. Ripping and dieting can come later. That is my take on it all from experience, of me starting at 6'1" and 155-160lbs. I got up to about 205 after about 5 years of hard work. I admit I have lost it all over the next 4 years as I quit the gym for personal reasons. I am back here now as I am getting into it again, and looking forward to putting back on some size. Good luck.

Glad your hopping on man. Welcome!
No worries freshman year of highschool i was 5'11 115 lbs. I eventually ate more and grew without training and got up to 155. My first year of college is when i started training. I started seriously in december @ 6'0 160. now it being july i am 6'0 195.
All i did was eat a great breakfast and FULL meals throughout the day. Oats, chicken breasts, eggs(egg whites), pastas etc. get atleast 6 full meaals in a day plus a nice PWO Shake. Optimum Nutrition Whey is excellent. Also a creatine will help out to.
