Thing you hate most about bodybuilding/training

1) SQUATS

god do i fuckin hate squats. i dont think i was meant to squat. im bow legged, small/weak calves, weak core and my hamstring flexiblity is terrible. I have a hard time squatting full ROM, and i never have been able to get my balance properly on rack squats. for awhile i didnt go to parallel and did sissy squats.
I absolutely love deadlifting though and dont mind doing lunges/leg press/leg extension or any ham exercises. ive recommitted myself though to improving this...just because of how important it is for growth. but i hate every second

2.) Cardio.... that isn't a sport. I can play basketball or lacrosse all day, but i hate running like a hamster on a treadmill

3.) dropping everything you're doing to eat a meal every 3 hours.
or having to make sure you pack an extra meal in you're car when you're on the road/out doing shit. i often find myself stopping home to eat and then going to do what i gotta do. eats up a shitload of time.

kinda what i liked about my old office. had a shitload of food in the fridge at work + a full kitchen and of course food at home..never really left the office during the day. always had a meal accessible

WB, i have the same problem. my chest STILL doesn't grow. i really enjoy training it though. it just doesnt respond

and i dont know why :(

It's really depressing. i've tried training it twice a week on cycle, incorporating fascia scretching, directing more fly moments.....incorporating more incline etc. i think fascia scretching may be helping slightly, but i need to be more consistent in my calorie intake to really gauge the results.

my upper chest is really lacking

Just 4 u, PM O and he will do something neat for u i feel

Waking up at 6 am to eat oatmeal, cottage cheese, whey protein, and tea, so I can be in the Gym by 7:30 to train, and still have enough time to work my 11 am to 9 pm shift.
I've cut back my training to only 3 days a week, so I only have to wake up really early once a week, but I still hate it!

Forcing myself to eat even though I'm not hungry, while having heartburn sucks too.

Squat off a box. Take a step-up box from your gym and turn it diagonally. Put a towel over it to protect "the boys" too. Pick a box where your legs go parallel or slightly below when you sit.

You'd be surprised. People who don't like squats often like box squats and vice versa.

Waking up and being so fucking hungry you can't think straight.

One arm rows. I really hate those g'damned things. I've actually gotten sick to my stomach doing them. For some reason they demand more of me than deadlifts.

Getting started in general. Once I get moving and start lifting I'm good but getting started is a bitch.

i've tried using a bench, doesn't go low enough. i did it enjoy it though.

step boxes go REALLY low.......at least the ones in my gym.

not sure what you mean by turn it diagonally and how that would benefit?

The ones at my gym have those steps that can stack on each other. Have you tried those?

Sit on the box like this /\ -- not like [ ] -- your nuts go on the apex of the /\

One of the advantages of box squats is you can unload your legs and hips completely. Even guys who have problems with their knees seem to do better when they do that.

And so make sure the box lets you go at least parallel. One gym I used to go to had 11", 13" and 15" boxes.

Eating...Im sick of it yet if I don't eat every 1 1/2 to 2hrs I feel like Im going to starve to death.

Oh and lunges

the pure obcession i've got with it now. it is all i think about daily and nightly.

the diet portion of it sucks, i love sweets.

skinny guys standing 0.5'' away from the mirror with their tiny dumbells blocking my view when i'm doing dumbell presses with 110 lbs for reps.

I loved it looking back
love how I felt and looked, but at the time I still felt small/fat

I haven't had a gym membership in a year
I chose to do drugs to fill a void
Now that my lungs and mind are bouncing back I'm ready to get in shape
NOW!

I love squats. I actually love all but cardio as well.
What I dislike the most is just getting to the gym. Once I'm there, I'm pretty happy

Christ, stop your complaining about me. Next time, just ask me to move out of the way.

Besides the pink and orange dumbells are rad. You heard me...RAD!

:D

HEY! I need the mirror too!

for real

or going to the gym and having some weak ass guy try and tell you how to train and eat right to get big. fukcing annoying and they are full of shit.

One guy said to another "Yeah man, between meals you gotta eat something. I usually have cheese and crackers." I started laughing out loud at that one right in the middle of a set of rows and dropped the weight making a huge slam. Everyone looked at me, I got embarassed.

next time do them on a sybian with the optional dildo attachement. you'll  them!!!!

Losing all the gains after taking time off during summer.

I've been to the gym maybe six times in the last 2 mths.
I was there yesterday but could only lift about 80% of what i did before.

machines that have the wrong range of motion for a short gal.

that i don't have enough strength to do the things I would like to do (i can't do a single pull)

men who think they are entitled to use the benches ahead of me because I'm a woman.

Manhater

I always eat pretty much whatever I want, so I hate when I slack at the gym and put fat on. I hate cardio. I also hate the fact that my legs get too big for my pants. Legs and shoulders are my favorite parts to train and now I have to either do maybe 40 hours of cardio EOD (blah), or just do less legs.

Oh, I hate that no matter what I do, no matter how much I can pull, my forearms don't grow.

Machines have the wrong range of motion for everyone. Don't fear the free weights, they will give you the strength to do what you want to do.

Ah, but do they have a tv for a solid 4 hour cardio session?

I mainly use free weights, but I do use the leg curl machine (WHICH I HATE) and the pec deck (WHICH I HATE MORE)!

Substitute deadlifts or sled for the leg curl.

Substitute dumbell flyes and/or bench press and/or dumbell press for the pec dec.

Problem solved :qt:

Added bonus, you'll build core strength and discover abs you never knew you had!

Hey, I will do that!! I've never been one to do deadlifts (lol...you remember this I'm sure). I do straight leg deadlifts. I'll incorporate the regular ones and throw out leg curls. I can't leg curl any weight hardly because the range of motion is so off for me.

any machine, hammer strength, smith, or cables, triceps kick backs and pretty much all other lame forms of training.

I have one of those leg curl attachments on my bench and I'm in exactly the same boat and I'm 5'9" so it's not just you.

You get way better legs from regular deadlifts, just start out light and get the form down and remember to stretch your quads and hams like mad before you do it. You don't need to go to monster weight to get the benefits.

I'll try them! No one does them at my gym for me to spy on their form..lol. My gym is very family type with pools and stuff.

I hate Barbell Bench. I would still be powerlifting if I could bench heavy without pain. I also hate people who call two plates on each side of the Smith Machine 225. Can these fucking idiots count? The empty bar deloads as you press it. How does that make it weigh 45 pounds? Fucking nimrods. I also hate the guy who was quarter squatting "225" in the smith today with full wraps and a belt. My calves are almost bigger than his quads.

i feel your outrage.

Hitting 30 and not being able to have a cheat meal without feeling like a blimp

People who have no idea how to train/diet/suplement taking up space @ the gym

Worst thing i hate is the eating. I can handle everything else except the force feeding sucks after a while. Also cardio is my enemy. I look pretty fit but i cant run worth a shit.

I love most aspects of my weight and cardio training. Lifting gives me a big kick, for cardio I do training that I enjoy, not running on a treadmill.

However, when I do squats for maximum weight I can barely walk for the next two days. Walking down a flight of stairs proves painful and challenging. Not fun at all.

Occasionally I overload on pre-workout stack, too much N.O Explode or caffeine and I get a a scrambled, racing mind and CRAFT memory. I hate that.

CRAFT memory = Can't Remember A Fucking Thing memory.

b0und (now what was I doing?)

Hmm where do I start.... HAHA

Lets see... I hate running or cardio in any non sport from(basketball, football, etc..) Its not that the running bothers me, I just get soooo insanely bored.

I hate that I have to cut calories for my 6 pack to come in (almost there... I'm a lil under 12%bf for the first time in my life.) but then my bench/squat/dead suffers.

I hate that I have failed to increase the weight on my Bench the last 3 weeks in a row yet everything else is still going up(5x5 program). I know it could be worse and I could be stalling on everything but other than Abs, Chest is my next big goal.

I hate that the gym is packed with idiots, and that I am stuck going at peak times with some idiot whos bigger and stronger looking than me on the machine I want to use and is putting up little to no weight and rest 5 mins between sets. Although this has other benefits as there are more hot women to look at while I am there.

P.S. off topic... Hey ladies(HR, MM or anyone else who would know)... my gf has been going to the gym and doing some light lifts. I think she would benefit from doing deads like you are suggesting, but what range should she train in? She doesn't want to get "wide" and should she be doing straight leg deads?

and that"s counterproductive to longterm quality of life

calorie restriction is the best way to extend life and quality of life

so I'm often caught in the dilemma of either eat to gain strength
or restrict my calories to remain thin and not tax the body
