actually there is a form of OCD which is more common in older people where they hoard things which are of seemingly no value to anyone else but themselves. They can't bring themselves to throw anything away.
My guess is that this person has a mental disorder.

dude, that's nothin. i used to work for HomeVestors, you know, the We Buy Ugly Houses peeps. I have seen stuff in people's homes that rivals a landfill, if landfills were full of dead animals also. the worst was probably the crazy cat lady that died. 40+ cats had been around there. by the time we were done cleaning it, i think we had removed 2 cat skeletons, and some garbage bags full of something that at one time must've had a pulse. oh and i almost forgot all of the cans of cat food that were discarded in the house after the good little kitties ate them. there was literally 2 feet of garbage in that house. kinda like Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in that garbage pit in the Death Star.

When I was buying forclosures with a buddy we saw some bad shit people would shit in the sink when the water was turned off. It was gross. We bought a place in the mountains and we took out 12 - 30 Yard dumpsters of trash and we were under the gun becuase the snow was coming. We saw some sick shit but nothing quite as bad as that!
