The one true statement at last night's GOP convention:

yeah...that was the corporate malfeasance that i referred to in my earlier post...another thing that ran amock under the clinton administration...everyone got on for the ride...then, we found out that all that prosperity that we had been enjoying was fueled by off-balance sheet-debt, or just plain falsified documents...slick willy wasn't real big on turning over rocks...unless he thought he could find a blowjob under one.

Damn corporations. Spoken like a true liberal!

So I take it you are all in favor of tightening down regulations of Wall Street?

Bla ba dee bla bla bla

There were no scandals bigger than Enron in 2002, but even I'm not partisan enough to blame George Bush for something that Enron did.

Wikipedia has a list of accounting scandals. I see a lot more listed during the Bush years, but no matter.

I haven't heard such bitterness and misdirected blame toward Bill Clinton since, well, the last time I listened to that bloated drug addict on the radio.

Your pattern is becoming clear. You pick out isolated moments in history and use them to draw broad misleading conclusions. I think that's called propaganda. Pretty weird for a guy who doesn't "bow to either party".

Edit: you don't need to go to Wikipedia, look at your own list! Almost all the items on your list are after Clinton left office. But you probably know that. Just like Clinton caused bankers to lend money without proper credit in 2005, he caused accountants to lie as well. LOL on you.

my critique of Obama would be based on policy. I would be starting with an understanding that we begin with the same fact base, and that facts would be what drove the discussion. I would not be compelled to address fictions, lies and delusions before addressing policy differences. That is the sign of a party that wants to govern

Great quote 75th. You are right, that sums it up.

"Corporations are people, my friend."

Mitt Romney

Just like unions and media outlets like Fox and MSNBC are "people" when it comes to government regulation. Citizens United simply affirmed that government has limited ability to silence anyone. Mass media corporations have always had unrestricted speech, what is the difference between Fox News and MSNBC promoting an agenda while a coal company can't explain their position on coal with ads supporting a candidate?

the major corporate frauds and defalcations all took place while he was in office...of course many of them weren't discovered until after he left office...you don't think that those things were discovered the day that they started happening do you??? if they had been, we would have averted many of the disaster(s) that we are still dealing with today. the powers that be were asleep at the wheel under slick willy...like i said, he wasn't real big on turning over rocks, unless he thought he'd find a blowjob under one of them...trust me...i've turned over a lot of rocks looking for blowjobs...fortunately, no one was ever stupid enough to give me the keys to the bus.

clinton sucked...and all the "prosperity" that we enjoyed while he was in office was fake...the value that everyone lost in their houses and in their 401k plans was nothing but air...and someone stuck a pin in the balloon and it deflated...the sad thing is? he knew it was going to happen and he figured he'd just blame it on the next guy...because he knows that most americans (not pointing fingers) have really short memories.

and, yes, clinton gave the bankers the tools that they needed to lend money without proper credit or even a job! do you know how many homes were repossessed from illegal aliens during the mortgage crisis? a shitload (technical accounting term).

yup...i use wikipedia...so what? it's quick and easy and relatively accurate...and...you knew EXACTLY where to go to look for the source of my information, mr. smartypants...so don't get all holier-than-thou with me! :lmao:

i must confess...i actually do like him (and that old liberal bastard db)...they're smart...and thought-provoking...and truth-be-told, i'll bet our actual politics really aren't all that different...it's c&c...i like to push people's buttons...and those guys wear theirs on their sleeves.

Man I wrote a brilliant, I mean brilliant response to you, and then closed my browser without posting. It is really a shame because it was a beautiful piece of work. You are really missing out. Maybe I can re-create some of it tomorrow....
if you are lucky ;)
