The Gym According to Dial_tone

I`ve only been to a commercial gym for less than a year. The short time I`ve been there was OK. People BS`ing with each other a lot, I did`nt like that. Never really paid attention to others. I know you can`t avoid it sometimes. lol

I lift in my basement and love it. I used to hate having to use another piece of equipment because the one I wanted was occupied. I only miss the gym slightly.

for the most part my gym isn't bad. i tend to get alot of respect from the people in there. i have been going there since i was a 140lbs senior in HS. now i am a 210lb junior in college. throughout that time, i see the same people day in day out. we tend to know what each other needs. they always want machines and treadmills. i give them that. i want the barbells and dumbbells, and they give me that.

there are alot of black people in my gym. i dont mind them but they mind me. always glaring at me like i shouldn't be there. the thing is, it's always the skinny ones. never the built ones that have seen me in there for a while.

all in all i like my gym, been there 3 years straight with no breaks. cool people and the few i dont like never last. maybe my only complaint would be the complete lack of hot chicks. and the one hot chick (most beautiful chick i ever met btw) is a jehovah's witness, go figure.
 
DT what is going on in the gym today? My lazy ass slept in so I have to go tonight and the night crew at the gym sucks. Working shoulders and tries lets hope I don't have to smack anyone in the head with a dumbbell. ;)

Today would be arm day, but since I don't want mine getting much bigger I usually skip today and rest up for leg day tomorrow. I need to settle on a Tues-Thurs & Sat-Sun schedule....Mondays and Fridays are good days to skip.

I am just shocked, to be at the point where you dont want your arms to grow so you'll skip an arm day...

since this thread isnt about you, ummm

College gyms are ridiculous because the guys just mainly go there to hit on chicks. Frat guys go in flocks and do stupid stuff on their d-bol only cycles. And of course it looks like almost no one knows what theyre doing. Training legs is also out of the question.
 
i'm too lazy to read this whole thread so i don't know if it's been mentioned, but;

9. why use the curl area to do curls (even though it's empty) when i and my 130 lb asschimp friend can each do curls in the only two squat racks, rocking back and forth throwing around that whole 65 lbs while we yell at each other "yeah, you da man."
 
I watched an Asian girl spotting an Asian guy bench pressing 135 lbs for 5 reps the other day. She was completely oblivious to the fact that the right plate was about 4 inches from sliding off until some guy comes over for a last second save.
