For those that don't know I just came back from a 5-6 year gym layoff last year. I spent the last 12 months lifting in my apt complex fitness room which is nothing but bikes, stair stepper, health rider and a multi-station machine. No stack goes over 200 lbs (You wouldn't believe how many exercises I figured out how to do on that mutha fucka). I'm as big as a house but Smurfy could probably outlift me. Anyhoo, I joined 24-hour fitness 3 weeks ago so this is my first time in a REAL gym in near 7 years. After observing other humans lift for the first time in 7 years these are my observations thus far.

1. There is no such thing as form anymore. Just put the pin at the bottom of the stack and do whatever it takes to get that bitch up. You won't build an ounce of muscle but as long as you can tell your friends you're doing the entire stack it's all good.

2. Apparently you grow more muscle lifting in front of a mirror. Everybody and his brother does every set in front of the mirror. This is not apparently to improve form as observation #1 stated form is non-existent. God forbid you step between somebody and the mirror during his set....you can actually watch his muscles shrink as you block his/her view. There must be some form of kryptonite radiating off other bodies. I don't need a mirror. I look just like I did when I brushed my teeth that morning.

3. Tattoos are apparently a requirement for a serious lifter. I have no such adornments...thus despite my 20" guns (and 16% BF) I am still a rookie.

I will report more observations as I go. That is all.

how the hell did you maintain all that size?

It's fat, orb. I have a fat distribution that is off the charts. I'm 5'8, 248, probably 17% bodyfat and I can still see a hint of abs in the mirror. Keep in mind when I quit lifting seriously my off-season weight was 211, so the extra 37 lbs is probably 80% fat. I do grow like a weed though.

Keep in mind when I quit lifting seriously my off-season weight was 211, so the extra 37 lbs is probably 80% fat. I do grow like a fucking weed though. I could do a 16-weektest/deca/tren cycle and be 300 lbs by Xmas. I'd hate myself though....I hate myself now.

well, it looks like a lot of that muscle stuck.......if i took that long off, i'd turn into a skinny-fat guy
