Nice story. However, had you been, say a personal trainer or something like that instead of a military man, I don't think the family would have taken you up so easily. Military men typically have a certain level of honour, respect, and loyalty associated with them. If you were a bank teller do you think the family would have embraced you the same way?

Probably not. being an Army officer is a respected career in most circles, however, among professional careers it is the one that makes family life most difficult.

Yeah I really think so. I'm not talking about the 300 people I loosely call "friends"; I'm talking about the 4-5 friends who've become "family". Love might come and go. They'll be around no matter what.

Like I've said before-- I couldn't sell myself out for any amount of money. I couldn't be happy with a partner who didn't make me laugh....and know amount of "stuff" could make me feel content.

I want a partner, not someone to just provide for me. I can take care of myself. Sure it's nice to have nifty new stuff, but at the end of the day I couldn't go to bed next to someone who I didn't have passionate feelings about and feel fulfilled because of the car he bought me.
