the bad thing about deads

after deads i cant do any other back work worth sh!t.
not bb rows not pulldowns, nothing.

even if i use a weight belt and put less weight on the bar i still cant row anything near my normal reps, and i cant even feel my lats working which i can if i dont deadlift that day.

i train my back (with biceps and forearms) twice a week on Tuesdays & Fridays with one(rest-paused) set or two sets to failure on each exercise.

i deadlift on tuesdays and i dont wear a belt.
what should i do about this? would it be so bad to deadlift last?

just do 2 sets of pulldowns then dead then arms on tuesdays?
 
if your doing back twice a week but only deadlifting once a week then your back should be getting plenty of work from that. i hit back once every 5 days and usually do weighted chins first and then deadlift followed up by rows. the only problem i usually encounter is grip failure.
 
I do weighted chins before deadlifts myself, too.

But I do other back exercises fine that emphasize different parts without trouble.

The only logical deduction is you may be overdoing it on one exercise. So you eitehr have to deal with it or shift your weights around.

Often times when i do a new high training weight on the flat bench, I have trouble with tricep extentions (like today).
 
yea, on deads, your back is working enough. try doing a "lite" back day on deads and a heavy day on your other day, or you can just have one day of back work and alternate deads out. tb
 
Hey Shwaym! What seems to work really well for me and tear the shit out of my back is this routine that I do once a week:

4-5 sets of heavy lat pull downs Advancing in weight til I hit the stack

Then lots of sets of deadlifts and hacklifts (partial or full)

Then dumbell rows inbetween sets of deads and hacks

chin-ups in between sets

and barbell rows afterwards maybe an extra machine too

Ive noticed a definate increase in my back size with this routine
