I'm gonna start a regimen of exercise classes.

Some of the classes I plan to attend:

Body Works

Step and Sculpt

Hi/Lo Aerobics

Cardio Kickboxing

I don't care what you say.

Yeah it was good, I think my muscles got a decent workout and I sweated liek crazy. I think you can push yourself a bit harder when you have people exhorting you to do it.

I realize there is more to fitness than lifting heavy weight so it's cool. And kind of fun.

Well, yeah. Lifting weights was never the whole package of fitness in my eyes. It can take care of size, strength, bone density, tendon and ligament strength issues. Then you need to worry about diet as a part of health and fitness. Not to mention cardio to keep your heart healthy and have some cardiovascular endurance and general conditioning.

I think those are the key elements to fitness.

They have a cardio kick box class in my gym. It looks intense, I don't know if I have the stamina to make it through the entire hour.

sometime Ill show you all the steps for step aerobics like v-step, a-step, l-step, i-jumps, rock-the-horse, walk-the-plank and Ill show you some moves of myown as well

I used to do Spinning class. That is an ass-kicker.

Smurfy- Do you hire out? I need motivation for doing cardio.

Cheers,
Scotsman

ok but we might have to move some furniture around....my bed takes up a lot of space...

This is something I have wondered about.
I love fitness classes and my gym offers them for free as part of the package I am already paying for. Thing is, as I am working out 4 days a week doing weights with cardio also on most weight days plus on one of my free days, I feel like my muscles need to be resting and going to classes might push me into over training or slow my recovery down. I am not talking about stretching classes or cardio classes but mainly sculpting classes, kickboxin, thai boxing etc...
I would love to go to the classes though as I definitely don't think weights is all there is to fitness.
Any input on this?

allon I would just skip one day of weight training and do the class instead. I am surprised at how sore I got.

Yes, I thought of that, but I feel really to progress with weight training I need to keep up a routine and go the moment my body is ready for it otherwise it takes much longer.
So there is the dillemma, how do I fit it all in?

Allon what is your main goal?

If it's mostly to gain weight then forget about the classes. If it's to be fit and athletic then definitely do the classes.

Also you mention that you tend to do weights then cardio. You can always go to the gym an hour before class, hit the weights, then go to the class.

Thats a great idea! my cardio could be included in the classes, and I could go to the gym on rest days when I am sore just to do cardio.

Yeah buddy! It's a fun way to do some good activity.

Be careful though, some of those workouts will kick your ass just as well as a hevy lifting day!
