And you know what, Miles did just the right thing. He's an excop an licensed to carry. Some dumb shits are robbing copper wire, the thieves pull a knife. Did he use deadly force? NO HE SHOT THE GUY IN THE LEG!

Hell no he didn't, you SHOOT TO KILL! Now asswipe is going to turn around and sue him.

Miles, a former law enforcement officer, shot the man in the left leg
I'm pretty sure he could've put two center mass if he wanted to.

yeah that would suck if he was trying to kill him and hit his leg.
the situation could have been comical
"drop the wire"
"No!"
"i'll shoot ya"
"fuck you run johnny!"
bam!
"fuck you shot my leg???!!!!!"
"told you bwoy, don't fuck with my wire"

Shooting someone in the leg is obviously not purposely deadly force.

I don't see the irony.

The guy seems consistent to me.

Altough - I don't think your average person can be expected to be able to make such decisions in the heat of a moment. If you have to discharge your firearm at someone - no one should pick apart where you shot them.

Fuck them.

I've been robbed at gunpoint twice, and I'm still liberal.

I believe it...

Only a liberal is dumb enough to keep getting robbed without arming him/herself.

In 2005, Fla updated the castle doctrine to include not just inside of the home, but to also include vehicles and even your person or someone elses if you feel threatened.

The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:

One: It establishes, in law, the presumption that a criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, therefore a person may use any manner of force, including deadly force, against that person.

Two: It removes the "duty to retreat" if you are attacked in any place you have a right to be. You no longer have to turn your back on a criminal and try to run when attacked. Instead, you may stand your ground and fight back, meeting force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to yourself or others. [This is an American right repeatedly recognized in Supreme Court gun cases.]

Three: It provides that persons using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force.

It also prohibits criminals and their families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who have attacked them.

In short, it gives rights back to law-abiding people and forces judges and prosecutors who are prone to coddling criminals to instead focus on protecting victims.

Dude tried to rob me once, I immediately hit a double bicep pose and scared the shit out of the fucker, he dropped the gun and ran.
