tell what you guys think....this is for triceps...
it is a variation of close grip bench presses..

lay on a bench and grab 2 dumbells..starting from the bottom with the 2 dumbells facing each other (palms are facing each other) and the dumbells are located by about your abs...you do presses like that with your palms facing each other the whole time...
what do you guys think??

peace

It sounds good, for the most part. I think there is a problem with the leverage, though. That is to say, with the dumbells located by the abs as you said, you'd need very strong anterior Delts, lightweight dumbells, and short arms to prevent the weight from sloping downwards from its top position (which would perhaps you in the groin in the process!). If the dumbells rest at chest level, then I see absolutely no problem with it.

I, too, invented an exercise designed to work the Rear delts without the lower-back stress caused by bent-over laterals. Description:While seated at a pull-down machine, place your hands as wide on the bar as possible then proceed to pull the bar to the bridge of your nose. (Do this carefully!) Anyway, these "face-pulls" are a great compund exercise for the rear delts and traps... Though when I first did them in a gym, people looked at me like I was crazy. Of course, a few months later, everybody is doing them :D

A trainer at my gym taught me to lay down on a mat with my feet touching the bottom pully. attach a foot long straight bar. grab bar and lay back down. starting with arms fully stretched and bar at thigh level, pull all the way over until arms are fully extended over head..
good for rear delts, no pressure on back.
you can use the same stance for top of delts.
use handle grip, and center yourself lying down with pully between legs. start from side pull up along side parallel to ground, to shoulder area. relieves all pressure from back . try it.

I see guys doing this at my gym all the time. Back to the drawing board. Hehe. Good exercise though, nice work.

Guys you may not have seen anyone else do these before you did-but these exercises are not new. I have used both in the past-Good Work at finding them-they are great-but someone beat you to them.
By the way the "face pull" is even better with a rope. Pull them out wide and your face doesn't get in the way.

Am I picturing this wrong, or does this sound like the same movement of front dumbbell raises which work the anterior, not posterior, delt? I could possibly see some rear delt involvement once the motion got to a certain angle, but not in the main lift. No flame intended here cuz my mental picture could be confused -- been staring at this damn screen all day.

Thanks for the idea Deathspell...haven't tried that one before. You seem fairly knowledgeable for a 16 y/o -- nice to see you're learning early. :)
