Taurus Judge Revolver

Anyone here own or shot one? Thinking of getting yet another pistol and I currently am missing a revolver in my collection. This seems too bad ass to pass up. Especially the newer models. Just looking for an owners thoughts or somebody that has shot ones thoughts or opinions.

I don't need or want opinions on what else I should get. I have plenty trust me. Just stick to the topic please EF members.

I wouldn't get a Taurus either. I haven't heard anything good about them. There are some other brands of revolvers that are nice and quality but you said no suggestions.

Real men don't own Taurus guns.

Am I still a real man if my wife bought one for us? We haven't fired it yet, as it's still brand-new (test fired only). My wife got it in September up in Montana, where you can buy outright over-the-counted with valid Texas ID & CCW permit. I haven't read anything that gets me really excited about firing it, but I wanted it desperately when CA said it was on the No-No list. I would think it might be OK with the .410 shells, but otherwise I'll keep my Colt SAA as my favorite revolver.

My favorite revolver was my Ruger SP 101 .357. But Taurus is famous famous quality revolvers. They are not junk and the Judge is a specialty revolver that shoots the .410 shotgun shell. If you don't like the Taurus that's fine but I want to know why you don't like them. Not what you heard or think.

I am specifically looking for first hand experiences with this weapon. Not that I don't value other weapons like I said I am very well versed in handguns and own and have owned virtually one of everything around.

Pistols use cartridges. Shotguns use shells (and revolvers loaded with shotshells).

Oh my forgive my slip. Can somebody please give me feedback on their use of a Judge? Fuck, it's like pulling teeth around here.

Plank, no good? Thought that was right up your alley.

The Rhino is a snubnose .357 that fires from the bottom chamber. I think they say it weighs like 10 ounces.

Again every Taurus I've fired/owned was junk. They all had issues with the cylinders rotating correctly. A few models spanned over a decade of production times. Junk. Junk junk junk. They are the highpoint's of revolvers. Junk.

What and how many, this is the type of info I'm looking for. So the cylinder would run out of time with the hammer? Fuk.

Yup. You'd get it striking between cylinders, you'd get them striking off center and not detonating the primers sometimes, etc.

Taurus period has this issue, with revolvers and auto loaders.

Revolvers are ghey

Clint Eastwood might disagree......

But seriously, I like them for house defense, because you can just grab and fire. With an auto, you need to fart around with the safety, and if you don't store it chambered, you have to chamber loudly, and that's going to get you shot if the intruder hears you. I have a S&W .357 for that purpose, but my favorite revolvers are the Colt SAA .45, and the Ruger Vaquero .44 mag.

Safety? What's a safety? About as many auto-loaders that have mechanical safeties don't have them. My safety is my finger, and a round is always chambered.
