Swollen ankles... what would cause this...?

Could be as serious as a problem with your liver, kidneys, or left ventricle, or as simple as a a new food allergy. If it's constant regardless of what you eat, we can rule out the latter...

Hope it turns out to be nothing, SofaGeorge. :(

i have had this problem for years. When i go on vacation and my diet changes, ie more sodium and carbs, my ankles swell up and i usually gain about 10+ lbs of water weight. As soon as i get back, and change my diet, the swelling goes away. The swelling is exacerbated since anabolic steroids affect the angio tension system causing you to retain water via sodium retention. Look for the hidden sodium in tuna fish, bread, bagels, some soda, cut back on carbs. If it gets worse, see a doc.

Oh great I'm dying... :(

Okay... I've hit 252 lbs this bulking cycle... and now the cutting begins. Look for a lean mean Sofa George at 220 lbs.

My girlfriend is standing behind me while I type. She just said, "We eat chicken and salad. Okay?"

I so enjoyed bulking.

My girlfriend jsut scheduled the appointment. I doubt this is serious. I've been keeping my regular boxing and workout schedule... but it would be stupid not to fully look into it.

Sofa, have you checked your blood pressure lately? If you're up to 252 all of a suden and you were in the 220's not all that long ago the increased weight could cause an increase in blood pressure, test can also increase blood pressure, and the water retention from test can also cause water retention and increased blood pressure, as can a change from a healthy cutting diet to a shitty bulking one. All of these can lead to shortness of breath.

It might be as simple as this, or it could be something more serious. If I were you, I'd go for a physical and just ask for the routine blood work, lipid profile, blood chemistry, EKG, stress test, etc for peace of mind. Good luck, and personally, I have a feeling once you cycle off and drop some excess water you will feel much better.

mine are swollen a bit as well... i wont say why ... but im holding water down there as well and i cant even see my ankles...heavy lifting...is my guess...:)otherwise have her close her eyes so i can tell you what i think it is :)

Do you have a edema swelling in hands? This would be sure sign of CHF if it is in hands and feet. Otherwise, you could be retaining fluid. Do you drink enough water?

there was an article on an old mag by paul borenssen (sp) in which he recommended high doses of test for 40 days or so. he said that the ankles will swell and you will experience shortness of breath. he also mentioned other sides but i cant recall right now. im assuming you are using at least 2g a week now?

hope everything turns out for the best- keep us updated
