Swollen ankles... what would cause this...?

My girlfriend is making me type this... and I mean making me. She's standing behind me as I hit the keys.

I'm placing this on Anabolics on the off chance that this is anything AAS related. I don't think it is. But... all 5'1" 120 lbs of her is mean, and she might start thumping my head if I don't do what she says.

About a week or two ago she noticed that my ankles were swelling... and feet... she's also noticed a sudden shortness of breath.

I've had pain in my legs for a couple weeks - but I've attributed this to lifting very heavy.

Three weeks ago I had two torn muscles... abs and shoulder... back to back during the same workout. (This may be unrelated.)

Does anyone have any ideas what this may be?

Fonz?

Are you holding water from anything? I am, and my feet and ankles are huge right now.

Scotty Two Hottie had swollen ankles a while back. Maybe you could PM him or dig up some of his old threads.

I'm taking test propionate and test phenylpropionate... could make me hold a lot of water. Will look for scotty's posts.

Are you running any liquidex or armidex to hold off excess water? How is your blood glucose? Blood pressure and blood volume?

the edema is a problem but could be as a result of many things, however, when you add the shortness of breath, that's troublesome to me. see both things, together, point towards cardio insufficiency, or heart failure. i'm not trying to scare you, however, these are two of the symptoms of CHF. BUT, that could be caused by something as benign as you being excessively overweight for your heart muscle. see if your heart can't keep up with the demand you're asking of it, in terms of ability to beat effectively and efficiently, for whatever reason, heart insufficiency, or heart failure can occur. which means it could be benign even as CHF. again, this could be a result of your escessive weight, but that still doesn't make it 'ok' because that's a very clear and strong message that you need to change something now. based on what i've read from your posts, you've had quite a weight increase over the past year and this could definitely be the reason, however, i still highly recommend you see a cardio doc asap. in the mean time, consider getting back down to the '6-pack ab' weight, i believe was in the 2-teens for you. body weight has a huge impact on the ability for the heart to pump efficiently. Also, CoQ10 is EXCELLENT for this, in fact heart failure patients are oft put on it to see if it will help them. well, if they have a good cardio doc they are. :) but other good supps worth noting are l-carnitine (fumarate or tartrate), hawthorne and mangesium (aspartate or glycinate). Pure Encapsulations has a product that is a combination of CoQ10 and L-carnitine fumarate that is excellent imo. please consider these supps, they can do a world of good making you heart function properly despite the added demands. the good thing is if it's solely due to the weight, and so many times it is, if you get the weight down and keep it down, you won't see hide nor hair of this problem ever again. i hope this information helps you, good luck and please keep up posted!

This is along the line in which I was thinking, swollen feet and ankles could indicate failure of the left ventricle. The supps that 40but mentioned are great, but your first order is go to the ER asap they will run preliminary cardiac test then call in a cardio specialist if needed. Also if needed they will give the proper meds to reduce edema. At this point do not self medicate with lasix or the like. Good luck.:)
