How bout them apples... A boston fan that probably didn't watch a single game during the regular season jumping on the bandwagon.
 
It was a hell of a series they had vs. Philly. But cup? Nigga, please...even if they somehow survive the red-hot Lightning, the Sharks will chew them up and spit them out. I got the Sharks taking home the hardware this year (unless Daniel and Henrik suddenly grow some balls and play playoff hockey)

it was only a mild one, but i still shut him down for the rest of the year if i'm the bruins. right now they are saying the first 2 games minimum, but i don't see the point in jeopardizing the rest of his career not to mention his life.

This concussion publcicity is really fugging with the game; here in Ontario they just decided to take the contact out of house league level hockey for all age group. Only rep level players will be bodychecking from here on out. Makes me sick; the pussification of our youth continues. I figured it might happen in the lawsuit-happy USA, but never here in Canada.

i don't agree with taking the contact out, but i do agree with shutting players down once they've had one. too many older players are fucked from not taking adequate time off before returning to the ice/field.

i'm conflicted about this because there are so many sports (e.g. football, hockey, boxing, mma, etc.) where violent head contact is an such intrinsic part of the "game" that taking big measures to limit that contact truly changes the sport to the point where it's a completely different (or at the very least a lite version of the) sport...i don't have any answers but, everytime the talks heat up about making changes to rules and required equipment, etc. i get this sort of bummed-out feeling...whatever.

The game is way faster and the players are bigger...equipment is bigger etc...its hockey its the toughest sport out there. Slow the game down and you will decrease concussions.
 
id vote to go back to spartan law. if the kid looks gimpy throw him in the fire and make a new one till you get it right. no more helmets, no more protecting the slow. all darwinism all the time would be much better

why did you quote my post?


all i said was keep concussed players out longer before letting them come back. i'm all for the contact in hockey and football. but once you get your bell rung you should have to wait longer to come back. hell, crosby got concussed before the allstar break and couldn't play in the playoffs. all you have to do is look at guys like savard to see holding them out is a good thing.

Yeah, because you never talk shit all season about the sux or the pats when they're doing well. You've been oddly silent about the below .500 sux, btw. It's just the kind of fan you are, we all know it and it's cool.

Agreed; I'd have coaches at all levels have to re-certify with an added concussion identification and management course, and put in some guidelines where teams must get written medical clearance from a player's doctor after a concussion is suspected before the player can resume activity.

agreed, the equipment in football and hockey is one of the biggest issues, they have turned players into weapons instead of humans being protected as one concussion expert put it.

i wasn't disagreeing with you...i was just attempting to add a little something to the commentary...you know...paraphrasing?? and, i was just lamenting some of the changes that have already taken place...at this point, the nfl is really only one small step from putting red jerseys (like in practice) on the qb's and instituting a two-hand-touch rule...it's just kinda sad, that's all.
