Subway!!

I actually posted about this in my earlier thread, but I thought this deserved a new one.

I emailed subway about nutritional facts about the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki on Honey Oat bread that I usually get (though I will be changing that to wheat!), and this is what they sent me.

For a SIX INCH SUB:

Calories 392
Protein (g) 26 .5
Carbohydrates (g) 59
Fat (g) 5 .5
Saturated Fat (g) 1.5
Cholesterol (mg) 50
Sodium (mg) 1090
Sugar (g) 17
Dietary Fiber (g) 8

Though I guess that it has a lot of sodium, it has A LOT of protein. I bet most of us that go to subway eat footlongs, so to think that it has 53 grams of protein is really refreshing!

The email of the person that sent me the info, in case you guys want to contact them, is [email protected] . The name was Paula Gomez.

Now, I just need to get in touch with Chipotle and Panda Express!

A lot of carbs also :worried:

hmm.. guess it depends on what type of a diet your shooting for here. that's too much sugar and not enough protein for me..

well i way 140-145 and im just trying to get bigger and stronger and cut and more intimidating. oh well..

Well, it's not the best choice. You'd be better with like, 4 hard-boiled/scrambled eggs, a sweet potato, some brown rice, and a slab or two of fish (or some chicken breast), but it's quick and easy and it's not horrible. Better than McDonalds and Burger King, I'd think. If you're an ecto, use it as a quick source of calories. If you're bulking and don't care about gaining some fat, use it sparingly. Maybe 3x a week or so. Try to get in more healthy foods. If you're cutting, nix it. Not worth it.

High blood pressure or anything like that, cut it out. A lot of sodium. Though I've seen worse (Progresso soup).

eh, you're 18, eat what you want just keep training.. just watch out for when that metabolism slows down bro, it'll happen before you know it :)

C'mon...he's 18.........My senior year in college...I got a foolong tuna on wheat with everything, loaded! right after I trained and packed on a lot of mass.......stayed pretty damn lean too, and that's couple with drinking 2-3 nights/week............go figure.......

cmon subways arent unhealthy. although i think the protein content is exaggereated. i get about 3 subs a week usually steak and cheese or the melt. the meat content isnt huge.

why is everyone scared of carbs arent they essential for muscle growth

In case you havent noticed, bra, the whole fucking nation is scared of carbs.....look, it's everywhere.....Low carb, atkins friendly, blah, blah..........it sucks, and you are right, they shouldnt be.

However, I don't beleive you need to eat THAT MUCH bread at one time.......its a ton....so I usually get the veggie on whoke wheat, slap a whole bunch of my own chicken breast on it, and go to town, but toss out some of the breading.........

best bet with subway is get the 6 inch and spend the extra for double meat ,thats if carbs are a issue for you otherwise go nuts

I love that sweet onion chicken teriyaki

LoL.

Scared of carbs, no, but carbs from bread = no good for me.

Why ?

If it is whole wheat bread, it is not a "bad" carbs

LOL....well, the whole wheat bread is FAR from true whole wheat...........It's loaded with sodium, sugar, bleached flour, etc....so don't go there.........

I still would eat it though.........not during cutting phases..........

lol yeah it's really funny to go out with the coworkers and having them wonder why you are ripping half the bread off your burger, I guess we all do have the same behaviors
