Sublimezm mortgage ??

Who has been impacted by these instruments. Jobs, house loan, family friend etc. How big is this deal?

bro, subprime was just the beginning. Now we have Alt-A and A lenders in trouble and shutting down. Grrenpoint (owned by Cap One) is done, ABC (big option ARM lender) is gone, CountryWide had to take a huge loan and they are still in trouble. This will get worse all around before it gets better. Period.

Many people may be too young to know or remember when 9% was a "great rate" for a PRIME borrower! The problem was everyone was giving 100% financing on $500K loans to people with very little to no credit on overstated income loans. Yeah, your gardener makes $12,000 a month. Hell, if that were true, I'd pack a mower and weed whaker into a pickup and go get a tan.

Peopel began to think it was their RIGHT to own a home instead of a PRIVELEGE! And that is just plain not the case. Now, the market is correcting, loans are adjusting, home values have declined, people are upside down because they financed 100%...and the foreclosures are skyrocketing. Now people are being reminded that it's not their "right" to own a home, but a privilege that needs to be taken seriously.
