I'll try to ask him what he used. Probably should've made it a point to say he. Him and I are 2nd cousins and are more like acquaintances. Fuckwad had my brother in the wedding, and I wasn't invited. No kids he said. This was 6 months ago.

You're probably right about him seeing me as a kid. Though when he needed advice on how to get out of the contract he signed with the Navy reserves, who'd he come to? His kid cousin.

He made good money doing it. The thing was he was a substitute teacher at the time at an all girls highschool. They found out he stripped and would go to see him. School found out about it and he either had to quit stripping or teaching. He chose to stay a teacher.

lol at the Coast Gaurd reference. I should have let him go in. Thing was he'd go reserve officer. Mid 20 something year old handed a commission with no experience as an enlisted man in the fleet. Dangerous. I sleep better at night knowing I potentially saved him, the sailors who would've been under him, and prevented the court martials of the Marines he would've pissed off.

I think what happened is he fooled around with the 18 year old girls. Right out of the porn world indeed.

You're right.......we used to get fresh cadets who were just out of the ROTC program and they were college students with no military experience.

Nobody respected them. I felt bad for some because they would often get their ideas and orders overuled by our E-6's.

Officers dictate policy. Enlisted actually decide what gets done.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen young LT's get her balls handed to them by NCO's......it's funny in a way, watching this as a young lower enlisted.

The best officers in the Army were prior enlisted..........ROTC and WestPoint cadets suck, they only want to do things their way, wouldn't listen to reason.

As much as I respect the chain of command, I love seeing green LT's with no experience getting overruled by salts. I figure if I go Army Reserve, officer or not, I have 4 years of being shit on under my belt and know how it feels.

My favorite was when one of our E-8's told us during a field exercise "Noone above E-6 will come around you for the most part if you're in this situation for real. Especially Lt grade officers. They know they piss you off. They know you have a weapon. And they know all you have to say is that he didn't give the word of the day so you lit into him. Have fun Marines."

Trust me, when you transfer to the Army, you'll be fine. Just don't make the mistake of saying "when I was in the Marines.....". Soldiers don't like that, esp the Airborne/Special Forces/Rangers, you're liable to get your ass kicked. Let's just say we have a healthy mistrust of the Marines and I'm sure the Marines don't like us either.

You won't get shit on that much in the Army, for the most part the NCO corps is good, it's the officers you have to watch out for.
