Nice attitude.

Who said he did not really need to use Accutane? Sounds to me like he decided to maybe solve hios acne problem forever, and is already well on his way to doing that. My suggestion was that he stick with that plan, and get real results.

Using Accutane the REAL way, for the full regimen, provides a SYSTEMIC soultion to the problem that will have long-term benefits. He may only have to maybe 3-4 more weeks for such a benefit. Stopping now, and using some topical solution, is a waste of time and effort.

I say if you start something, finish it, if you are going to do something, do it right.

sorry but the topical nizoral and accutane gel got rid of acne (bad!) and red spots (like from the heat) on my arms. if the oral route gets rid of it for good (never heard of that) then go for it by all means. this topical method works fine for me while on cycle. while natural i really have no acne problem at all. on cycle its mainly only my arms. so i choose topical. this board is here to give advice not go off the hinges hollaring about you must adhere to the oral administration or your dick will fall off! lol. its up to him in the end, these are all opinions.

Thats my point.

If done correctly, proper dose, for a long enough period of time, for many people a full Accutane regimen WILL get rid of acne forever.

Yeah, there are some exceptions but for most men, the above is true.

Many people are not aware of this, of how Accutane may have this effect. Too many people have used it as sort of a "fix it now" remedy - which is not its real purpose (teh oral version that is). Becuase of that, many people are not aware of this method of taking it and getting this truet life-long benefit.

The poster is SO close to being at that level, I would hate to see the dude give it up at this point.

My comments were not a slam at anyone at all, just a passionate argument that this guy is already most of the way towards, in all likelyhood, having his problems being solved forever, and I think its in his interest that he make an informed choice.

Bro,

You sure your taking 200mgs a day? I have taken 2 40mg caps a day and my weight averages 250 to 260... At 80mgs a day it dries the heck out of my skin, eyes, lips, mouth, etc etc... Its the worse feeling I have had lol I have had my skin cracking and my lips bleeding day after day, now thats not a pretty site... No wonder my wife wouldnt kiss me often... Anyway Its really tough stuff on your body and most wouldnt recommend it with a cycle however muscle heads like we are we tend to do things that people tell us not to lol... The dermatologist I was under said it was last resort medication because of what it does to your system while you are on it, but he said it was almost always effective and it was for me... After I had tried numerous things from antibiotics to creams and lotions nothing worked and I had it probably the worse it could have been lol... Yeah that bad... So accutane does work wonders and it has kept it at bay...

i can agree w/ riker29 and bigbillybear. i've never heard off 200mgs/day--that's an f-load. i've looked at the pdr and i'm pretty sure i've never seen that dose. i thougt the max was 80, but i will admit it's been like 97 since i've been dosed personaly. Also, for most it works forever, but others it only works for a few years then returns. if u really won't some other opinions, research my name or pm me, i can tell u more than u ever wanted to know. otherwise pursue your own blind course. either way i wish u the best of luck--genuinely!

I think many of you don't know what you're talking about regarding accutane dosing

The recommended dosage range for Accutane is 0.5 to 2 milligrams per 2.2 pounds of body weight, divided into 2 doses daily, for 15 to 20 weeks. The usual starting dose is 0.5 to 1 milligram per 2.2 pounds per day.People whose disease is very severe or is primarily on the body may have to take up to the maximum recommended dose.
