Steroid Therapy on 60 Minutes... A Question about the Show

It is the GH that accelerates tumor growth. Yes, it is possible. I don't think it is a common occurance, but they were saying taht (basicall) if you have undetected cancer cells in your body, that GH "Could" accelerate the growth of those cells. It makes sense, I guess. Gh is also supposed to boost your immune system though, so who knows. It's a risk you take, I guess.

Shit If im 80 years old, juice me up. Ill take my fuckin chances. The clock is running out people. id rather live my last few years LIVING LIFE than waiting to die. I am totally for AAS and GH therapy in seniors

No doubt I will be doing it for sure.

That old doc on the 60 minutes show is more of an advertisement against using GH. I see him in my nightmares, him and Jack Lelanne, when they start offering to "Power Juice" one another I wake up screaming.

That's what I'm saying.

No - you are incorrect - all AAS increase cell size - so if you have cancer cells and take AAS they are gonna grow - period.

Not totally correct, AAS may increase cell size to a small degree but that's not the problem, the problem is the growth hormone causing replication of cells, AAS increase the process of protein synthesis which make muscle fibres larger and perhaps some other cells, where as GH and IGF actually cause replication of the cells. In muscles that is an increase in the maturation rate of satellite cells, and in other cells that is an increase in rate of replication to which the hormone(s) have an affinity to.

Yea but low test can give you cancer also. Studies on people that have Klinefelter's Syndrome have four time the rate of lymphoma then the normal population. Klinefelter's Syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes low testosterone. So the reality is you are always at risk.

It is true that steroids and gh promote tissue growth. Cancer is a fast growing tissue. That is where they have concern but no supporting data.

yea, but u only live once and ur gonna die from something. main thing is to be careful with what u do. GH use is more advanced for a reason, more risks.

A bold statements saying low testosterone causes cancer,,,,increased risk of lyphoma is associated with klinefelters,,,but the mechanism is probably not due to low testosterone.....cancer can cause low testosterone through many mechanisms.

i agree mostly with johnnywests post,,again depends on the type of cancer and what it is responsive to, AAS would speed up replication of prostate cancer cells..
