So it seems I really sold my car now, the dude already called his lawyer and the whole works, we are supposed to meet on Wednesday so he{ll pay and Ill sign the car over...

So it seems this is it....:worried:

Im so fucking scared, moving back to the US, starting over, looking for a house a job, phone serive, internet service, etc I have to start form scratch, find out what brand of milk, bread, rice, etc I like since of course here I know Costarican and latin stuff, I know US brands I lived there a while but as a teen when shit got done for me, Im so scared of all the crap I dont know like taxes, law, I need to ship my dods and dont know the maximum I can have, I think I have to register them and get a license or something...

Everything is gonna be so different and eventhough its exciting im also very scarred :worried:

Wow I bet that would be scary. It's scary enough moving to new city/state I couldn't imagine another country. When are you moving? Where are you moving? Is it AZ?

Welcome to America Nan! If you moved to south FL, you would be surrounded by more latin culture. One advantage - when you sell a car here, you don't have to get an attorney.

Well Ill be moving to Space coast Florida, Cocoa or cape canaveral most likely, CR life aint easy at all.....

we spent a week at satellite beach (between cocoa and melbourne) a couple of years ago (spent the following week at disney). . .loved the area. . .nice, clean, quiet, laid-back. . .probably not that far to fun nightlife either. . .the sea turtles were nesting while we were there, so there were turtles swimming all over the place in the ocean. . .also saw a launch from ksc from the beach one day, and saw the space shuttle land the next day. . .nice place :)

Good luck to you Nan. Yes it will be an adjustment (not to mention that moving is just a general pain in the ass) but you're a highly competent individual and you can certainly take on this challenge.

Isn't easy just a perspective? I would of thought that life in a high competitive / consumeristic environment would be worse.

Florida will be a nice transition for you from where you are coming from. At least you will still have nice beaches around.

I thought CR was supposed to be the tits to live in. What do you mean its tough

Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll do great.

but florida instead? fug me that's a tough call.
if she couldn't handle the jungles of CR then surely
the gators or thugs of florida will eat her up

patrick air force base is in cocoa/satellite. . .thuggery isn't a real big thing in that neighborhood.

Husband cant come yet, has to wait 3 months and then I can request he come join me, I am going with my mom who knows the area pretty well.

Thanks for the support, thanks smurfy, I almost cried a little (Maybe Im PMSing :D)

I thought CR was supposed to be the tits to live in. What do you mean its tough

Well it's not just the money, let me elaborate:

Your average CR salary is $500 per month,
However:
Your minimum cheap so-so city rent is $300
Your minimum monthly basic grocery bill is $100
Eating with a friend in a cheap rest or going to a bar and barely drink/have fun is at least $20
Home ownership will be at least $70000
Getting a 42" Tv is at least $1300
Buying a so-so cell phone is at least $200.
There is no CS so returns and warranties are almost imposible, no real BBB or places to defend urself as a consumer...
Streets are unsafe and ur house HAS to have bars to decrease break ins.

So in general, you earn poorly and everything is insanely expensive, and when you actually get something nice for yourself it might get stolen or be a ripoff

BUT, if you have money or live in the rural areas it's beautiful and a lot more safe, beaches are beautiful, we have the most wonderful biodiversity, forrest, nice people, volcanoes, it's not all bad, but it sure aint heaven either.

I want to go back home to the Us because I will have a better quality of life, I would like to retire hear in the nice places but I need $$$ of course to lead the good life...

Curious signature.

I understood that the earning potential in the third world is pretty lower compared to the first world, but I am seeing the goal to earn in first world dollars and live in third world conditions (ie the exchange rate).

I never said that it was easy. I just didn't say that it's impossible.

In either case, good luck! When are you getting down to FL? Maybe I'll run into you.

What's scary to some is exciting to others.

It's obvious you have an adventurous streak. Some parts will be scary but's it's going to exhilarating too; like a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride.

Well the dude called us today to meet at his attorney's/notary on Wednesday, so it's pretty much done.

I have a family friend in FL and my mom's going with me, but it's still scary as fuck, I am SO glad to go back home but am nervous as well.... I'm practically leaving my whole life here, friends, family, coworkers, partner, etc.

Things have changed since you left. We have a crazy man as president and the nation is at war. Wait a sec...nothing has changed.

Welcome back nan!

Motherfuckins son of a bitch backed out of the deal.... but made me waste $100 fixing itty bitty stupid things he wanted fixed... FUCK...

Dang that sucks! I am sorry you wasted your time and money. Why did he back out? Did he give you a reason?

New adventures are fun. You will love it and do well. Congratulations to you for finally pulling the trigger!!

That's a big step, but it sounds like a good idea to improve your quality of life if that's what you want- all the best to you on the move.
I'm sure you'll figure everything out as it comes along- don't worry too much.
I recommend Canada for the next time you want to move somewhere amazing ;)

I can't stand dry air myself the older I get. Been thinking of getting out of MI. Never thought I'd say this but I welcome the warm summer humidity now lol. At least compared to dry ass MI winters. Not to mention Central Air is much cheaper than heating bills.

So, I just got ass raped by the CR goverment, back in 2007 I had a fender bender with a bus, neither him nor I claimed anything and didnt even go testify about the accident, well TWO FUCKING years later a judge made her ruling on the case and now I cant sell my car for 6 months until the car ticket "expires" per se, I can sell the car but who the fuck would buy it if it has an annotation :(

I hate this fucking country every fucking day more.... I wish I had friends of family in FL I could crash in for a month while I get a damn job... poop :'(

I could leave today if I wanted but I have no money to go to the US.... I need $2000 that's it, $2000 damn dollars

10 years ago when I was a suggar daddy, I bought my baby-gurl a $4,500 car and dropped her about $800 a month.

So what's on the table for negotiation?
