Let me break this down

It shouldn't be rolling off your back and if it is then u obviously haven;t been doing squats long enough and should get killed.

I have a new workout...i am going to repeatedly hammer my arms with a hammer for hypertrophy....heck if it will take 10-40% of the recuperative abilities to do my neck...damn, hope i don;t overtrain...

I recommend it! Awesome!
I believe that even the guys at Westside Barbell do these from time to time. It changes the feel of the squat as well as the leverage of where the bar is placed.
Simple variation.
As far is alleviating the pain in my neck and back...I have a permanent callous across my back where the bar rests...

It places the bar higher than even a normal high bar squat.It does feel different than any other squat Ive done.Like Clint said...its just another variation.

I think you should try the barbell 1st, then use a towel or padding if its really uncomfortable on your traps. When your jsut starting out & learning to squat, stuff like this manta ray thing gets you into bad habits.

Wouldn't a callous be visible? I don't see how bodybuilders would like that (which is why this doesn't make sense to me).
