Again, you know nothing about me, and you could only hope to accomplish what I have in my life by the time you're my age. Maybe once you finish puberty you can get started on something worthwhile.

You people with no foresight do not realize that one more attack will allow police to come into your home, your car and your life without any evidence. That is something that will be done in the name of fighting terrorism.

Do you think that you Internet discussions about gear, bud and other illegal substances will be allowed (without repercussion) in a post-Iraq America. No way, all email and Internet activity will be logged and watched and you will get a knock on the door whenever you do something that is "suspicious."

It is more than not wanting war. It is about preserving freedoms that Americans were once known for.

Now, this is a damn good point. Because of post 9/11 legislation, it is now legal, at least where I live, for task force and other LEAs to tap your phone and record conversations WITHOUT a warrant OR probable cause. People who merely talk about buying, doing, or manufacturing illegal substances over the phone are now under threat, at the very least, of consiracy charges being brought against them, if further investigation does not lead to other charges.

All under the guise of fighting terrorism, because you know the sale of illegal substances funds terrorist activities around the gloab. (er...globe)

Anti-War Opinions

It is unfortunate that we live in a world that is filled with warfare and violence. A common phrase being passed around lately is that we must "fight for peace." Is it logical to claim that violence and killing is taking a stand for peace? Can war really bring about lasting peace? History would indicate that it can't. After hundreds of wars fought around the world and countless millions dead, mankind still threatens to destroy itself. The only true way to take a stand for peace is to respect the sanctity of human life.

In times of conflict, we are programmed to see the people of other nations as "the enemy." To view them as almost being non-human. Such differentiating characteristics such as race, political offiliation, language, and religion are all guises used to cloud us from seeing them as human beings. When favoring violent action, we often fail to consider the many innocent lives that get claimed. We looked on with horror and grief on 9/11 when we witnessed the senseless killing of thousands of innocent people. Why then, are we less sympathetic and sensetive to the idea of innocent victims abroad? I suppose it's because they're not really people. They're different, remember.
