snowboarders - great places to hit up?

ok it's getting closer to winter...
so with that in mind anyone planning any trips yet or heading anywhere big?

in march i hit up killington, vermont and i'm hoping to get somewhere in canada or colorado this winter.

I've never gone snowboarding or skiing. I'm thinking about going this winter, but just don't know where.

I want to head up to West Virrginia to try
snowboarding for the first time this year.

I've always thought it looked like a blast.
Just don't get too much snow around here.

I've been once...and was completely stupid about it to say the least

Breckenridge CO is pretty fun, if you have some BIG FUCKIN balls you can ride the Devils Crotch, but you have to walk the last 100-200 metters to the top of the Mt

Breckenridge is cool for a big resort and they have awesome terrain parks.

Winter Park (also in Colorado) is a smaller operation and is nice for powder and a backcountry feel. They are mostly black runs though.

In the S/E... You gotta hit Beech Mtn N.C just outside of
Banner Elk and Boone N.C.

Highest Elevation Ski resort in the East and it's Boarder friendly with Snowmaking on the whole mtn.

Snow Shoe and Cannan Valley are your best bets in WV. The Poconos suck IMO. Winter Park Co. Is very nice and does have the back country feel but the slopes are all black as Tx says, Vale is totally kick ass. Look into Teluride and Black hawk in Co. too.

Don't go snowboarding at Keystone (Colorado). The runs are generally to narrow for snowboards and it's always packed. If you HAVE to go there, wait until the outback is open. Less people.

How could I have forgotten my brush with death at Keystone

The faimly I went with drove over there at night and my buddy and I were like "Oh shit man they have lights no big deal" Well the 2 of us started going very slow, and I hit a patch of ice I and ate shit...I slide for about 50 meters. Needless to say I walked it in after that
