You mentioned that other country that we aren't getting involved in because their land or people have nothing to offer us (i.e. they aren't white or they aren't sitting on an oil rich area).

Well, who cares what motives the US has. Afghanistan is a mess. We have stepped in. Now, we may have interests in it but that place was really fucked up before we got there. Those people have turned their hate onto us as an outlet. There's no excuse. I don't understand their rage and I don't think you do either, Strongchick.

I am Native American and you are an intelligent person you just dont have the ability to think past your own logic. You should rethink things. I can personally say that I will read something and that opposes a view of mine and will try to see it from that standpoint. julez put it best after your response. if you have'nt read it go and read it. i second that thought. don't preach people of color. i know a lot of black and hispanic people who do not feel angry for anything, minus what has happend to the U.S. recently. do they feel opressed by "the man"? no, they do their thing and thats that. why can't you do the same. you have succeeded(sp) and are living part of the american dream(the most elite rich live the full dream) and i sence you are still not happy. why can't you just be happy with your success? it seems like you want to blame "the man" for something "he" has'nt done to you. the past is the past, slavery died after the civil war. yes, hatred and recism still exist today unfortunately. that does'nt mean every white man is racist or hates blacks, latinos or asians. get over it already. stop bringing in this people of color stuff. much of the world likes america, yet much of the world hates us. why? i will tell you.

1. our freedom(constitution, bill of rights, ect)
2. our wealth and prosperity
3. our luxuries
4. our opportunities
5. our peac keeping efforts(i think we do need to be a little more picky where we ploice the world, we don't need to be everywhere, but when thousands of innocent lives are at stake and humanity is in danger then we need to stand up for the weak and innocent)
5. last and not least, of all the above we still are not a nation united. people in this country take things for granted and don't realize the opportunities out there. instead they whine for free money and healthcare(don't get me started on that), they want what everyone else has but for free, they sue each other for their own ignorance and stupidity, we don't take responsibility for our actions, instead we blame the system or someone esle, or in your case strongchick, you blame "the man". my view point is this, take responsibility for you actions, stop asking for handouts(i'm not saying you are, it's a generalization), get a job and earn your stuff, contribute to bettering this country don't just sit back and get on your soapbox and preach and not practice. voice your concerns in an organized manner to your representatives and youru governor, mayor, ect. learn some tolerance. i am one of the most tolerant people on earth. i put up with stuff all the time and i don't go around boohooing about it and complaining to the government to make laws to fit my own selfishness. all this crybabying for free money, healthcare, food stamps, speacial rights and privaleges are nothing more than selfishness. place more burden on the hard working tax payer by raising his taxes and making him/her have less to provide their family with or less for themselves. they earned that money and should have more take home pay to do as they see fit, not pay higher taxes so some lazy dillheads(color not important, whites included ans well as all races) can drive bmw's, eat lobster and drink shampagne, go see a private physician(at the tazpayers expense) and enjoy life without working.. that is toatal bs and unfair to those of us who don't have much as is and still pay high taxes. i don't go around crying i don't have this and that, if i can't afford it i don't get it. i work hard for my money and deserve to have more to take home, but no i and many others have to pay these high taxes some people can be nothing more than a burden to this country and it's economy.

my final thought, again i reinerate get over it and move on. be happy you have what you have. don't manipulate the system and fleece this country into another depression. invest in the market if you can, that is a good way to stimulate the econonmy. patition for lower taxes for people who make less than 30k a year, better yet let's all raise our voices to the government to pass a flat tax rate, i say 10% but i'd be happy with only 15%. i pay 26.5% now and that would be a nice chunk of change to take home if i only had to pay 15%. and that 15% is flat across the board, everyone who pays taxes pays. do away with welfare and give it back to those who can't work or are retired. those who are of able body and mind should get a job and work. get it together and stop bellyaching over every little thing. it's this crap that makes other countries look down on us and some even hating us for it. grow up and take some responsiblity. peace!
