Shoulder Pain.......................

Recently i've been diagnosed with slight case of tendonitis in my right shoulder. Doc told me also that i have right shouolder impingement. My question is did any of you have it, is it serious and MOST IMPORTANTLY can i work out through it.

I just went back to the gym recently cause i had a car acident about 2 years ago and couldnt work out. Since then few health problems kept me away from the gym. I just went back about a month ago(for good) even though i trained over the spring and summer(3 times a week) and got a great training partner, i dont want to bow out now. I LOVE it too much and missed it WAYYYY too much(working out 4-5 times a week). Still in pretty good shape even though i started smoking right after the accident and drinking ocasionally.

What do i do, the only time my shoulder hurts when im working out is when i do barbell bench press, and over head millitary press with barbell. With dumbells i get away with minimal and sometimes no pain.

My question is has anyone had shoulder impingement and worked out through it, slight tendonitis in the shoulder as well? I just want to get back to lifting seriously and be back this summer with a killer body(planning on a cycle sometime by the end of the winter, or early spring)

I had a problem with my shoulder for some time. You may want to see if you can find an active release (art) person near you. My shoulder bothered me for two years, but after 6 trips to the ART person it was pretty much back to 100%. They were 6 painful trips, but it was worth it.

I'll joing the wagon.....My right shoulder SUCKS! and its killing my progress....whenever I bench and start to get into the heavy weights, it'll click on the way down....then I get this night lump by my clavicle and trap, but it's hard like a bone........no one knows what it is, but I'm thinking its starting to dislocate......damn.....

Thanx a lot guys for responding, i spoke to my doctor (one of the finest in NYC) he is a doc to the NY Giants (they suck) as well. He told me that i cant lift too heavy so i steer clear of my max. But without heavy weights you can't really grow. I am feeling as strong as an ox now.

But sometimes even though i get no pain i hear those poping and crunching sounds in the shoulder. Ill try finding that ART person as overhead recommended.

I dont want to give up as i am planning a cycle in Jan or feb of upcoming year.

Karma to all you bro's you've been helpful even though i wish Dr.M could respond as he helped me out with my EKG and went through with all what the doc said that i didnt know.

impingment is usually a result of over rotating the shoulder or a muscle imbalance.

The shoulder has 3 heads and 9 times out of 10 the rear delts are wear the weakness lies. Strength comes from behind. doctors don't always know all. They know statistics. Remember that YOU know yourself better than any doctor can.

Give it a read. It takes about 3-5 minutes.
