lestat, i.e Brian in real life, is a real quality guy. a dude's dude, a knock around type of guy. Lestat's internet leadership character, however, kinda sucks. He really disappointed me with the bomb squad thing, he started out so strong and I was so eager to join...i saved all my money and couldn't wait till plattyness so i could join the best internet group of all time. then I join and lestat is to busy sucking everyone's proverbial cack that he won't bomb anyone. gotta publicilly shame him in order for any bombs to get thrown. so basically what I'm screaming is this, Lestat as the sole leader of an ef group is not a good idea. Lt. maybe, but not general, he's just not cut out for that

wow man, I'm honored, great analysis.

I've said this many times, but we'll take a moment to delve a little deeper into this issue.

The Bomb Squad just kind of happened. It wasn't planned, I actually kind of enjoy givin the Bomb Squad history lesson, so bear with me.

George makes this new feature, a "bomb." basically anytime someone who is plat gives a NON PLAT negative (red, dissaporove) karma, it leaves a little bomb beneath their name. Collect 4 of them in 24 hours, you get blacked out. I quickly realized that 1 single bomb along wields no power, however 4 together leave quite an impact. the first person to "team up" with me to bomb was Deterass... Bomb Squad founder right there, charter member. We were able to recruit more people quickly and we found ourself with a squad. Originally I even had a platinum alter to assist because we only had about 4 people who were part of us and sometimes people weren't online and we wanted to get shit handled quick. The first bomb targets were crak600 (for abandoning his dogs) hamstershaver (because he had so many lame soklue posts around that time) and lumberg (because we knew he'd flip out, and boy did he).

Very quickly people started to take sides. Targers were plentiful, back there it seemed like 1 in 2 or 1 in 3 chat posters were non plat.. now you will notice that due to such a successful effort by the Bomb Squat, most chat members are now plat. The squad grew exponentially... I was getting daily requests to join, people from other areas of EF took notice and joined in. At our peak we had 40 different members including some pretty powerful backing (that's all we can say about that).

But with power comes responsibility. With such a large group, we ran into many conflicts of interest. Everyone seemed to be friends with someone who was a friend of someone getting their ass handed to them with bombs. Also, the Bomb Squad attracted a certain type of posts, the type who really didn't give a fuck, the type who would bomb on a whim, for no reason. These are some of the most loyal bros there are, but it lead to many hostile and inflamitory situations. We were met with organized resistance. First by members of the board, then by mods. There wasn't much that would stop us though, since most of the members didn't give a shit how much red K they took, they lived for the bombing runs. Juicedmohawk always had his "flight goggles" ready. Needtogetas and his wife made a great 1-2 combo. Elite_fry was a great wingman (RIP bro, you are missed). It was a lot of fun. We had the infamous "black friday" were we hit a bunch of strategic targets all at once (sorry Samote and Mr. DB). Sometimes just to relive the old days, I go back to search out those posts from that day.. people posting in all kinds of colored fonts are the everlasting evidence of the carnage that was wrought on the board.

So now in modern day EF, targets are few and far between. I enjoy a good bombing as much as anyone. But I still abide by one of the first Bomb Squad principles.. we do not attack platinum targets. Part of the reason why our group was so successful and tolerated by admin was that we only terroristed the non paying customers, and ultimately we ENCOURAGED the non plats to go platinum. Many of them going platinum and IMMEDIATELY joining the Bomb Squad. The Bomb Squad for me has always been about plats vs non plats, and FREE bombs, not the ones you waste karma on.

Look around, where are the non plats these days? Hard to find. Also, I won't pile on bombs because someone who once was a member of the squad all of a sudden is non plat. If you are part of the squad, its a lifetime brotherhood.. a fraternity full of friendship and loyalty.

I will still not hesitate to bomb when warrented, but i will not go out of my way to cause strife between members of the board. This is our home, lets not desecrate it.

The facts are, I put a lot of effort into very FEW posts, and very little effort into a LOT of posts.

It kind of comes with the territory around here these days. You think of something interesting to post, or discuss, you take some time with it, and you end up getting your thread spammed anyway with people ridiculing and making fun.

I don't get upset or mad at that though, its a message board, a collective consciousnous that is continually growing and no one member can control it and force it to any direction.

If the board was solely philosophical discussion, it would get old, just if it was solely physics questions being answered (although Samote would love it).

People might be fooled into thinking that the religious or political threads have merit, but if one looks deeper they will see its merely the same handful of people re-hasing the SAME EXACT arguments over and over again.

So what do I do.. I take from it what I can, and leave what I don't care for. I suggest you do the same.

I didn't label YOU as bad bro material, I labeled your post. I try not to label people that I do not really know as anything, that would be a little short sighted on my part. I've spoken with you briefly on the phone, and read many of your posts here, I know you are not a bad bro at heart.

The post however was bad bro material x 1000.


And regarding my posts.. I realized I've turned into a bit of a post whore. But I do feel I contribute some value to the boards. I have learned quite a bit about quite a few people (because I read posts) and I would say that there are more then a handful of people that know more then just casual info about myself. That not only comes from my long tenure here, but also the infomation I've posted over that time.

Maybe your little exercise here was just a ploy at getting me to post a little more substance, maybe drive me away, who knows.

I'll fall back on the same thing I always have really, you take what you want from here and ignore what you don't. For me its probably 25/75 split... some topics and what not I'm just not into. C&C used to do zero for me, I would spend my time in other forums. As I've gotten to know the good bros around here I've found more entertainment, fun, and comfort here. I apologize if my posts detract from your experience, I'll do my best to make it an enjoyable one for you, but I cannot make any promises.

wow thanks man, I appreciate that.

Phaded is one of those good bros I talk to on IM sometimes, and its about training, AAS, business, life, women, whatever. I've got a decent number of EF people I'd turn to for a lot of things.. not just bombing and karma games.
