Personally, I'd get some legal advice and leave sooner than later. Once the decision is made, it'd be awkward to stay longer than needed and will likely do a number on you emotionally.

Living with your spouse during a divorce sucks. Living alone during a divorce sucks. Seeing your house half-empty because all your shit is moved out sucks.
Your life is going to suck for at least a year no matter what you do. Pick the options that protects your financial interest. Talk to a lawyer on your own before you agree to the divorce abroad. I think he's setting you up.

He's just being cheap, getting a divorce abroad is free for us, so he wants to divorce there and then just validate it here. Not sure if that would even count, which is why I'm meeting with an attorney next week.
