Should I wait?

You are asking a bunch of fucking douchebags from a fitness site what you should do about your marriage?

its a good sounding board.. or it was, now you mostly get trolled.

If the house is under both your names he can't sell it without you and if you agree to split the equity at the sale of the home then that would all go in the final divorce decree and you wouldn't sign a quit claim deed at the divorce it would sell and you'd split the equity and go your separate ways. You don't have to stay in the house for that nor do you absolutely need a lawyer for it I don't believe but I would get legal advice for sure because every state is different. If you move out and are divorcing it can be hard to move back in (I think) if you change your mind and he doesn't change his. But you don't want a War of the Roses scenario either lol ;)

I don't have an attorney, am meeting one next week. Husband wants to divorce abroad since our marriage was abroad. Not sure I like that, hence the attorney. We aren't selling the house. Just the lot. He's keeping the house. I'd keep the cash from the lot sale.

If the lot isn't sold by the divorce then the land would just go to you and you'd own it and have to sell it yourself. If he agrees to give you most of the profit from the land then ownership of the lot would just be transferred into your name in the divorce decree. I'd think you'd be better off doing it that way because and I don't know, but your taxes might get complicated selling it before? What are you going to do with the money? Put it down on another house? It might get taxed if you don't. I don't really know? I would ask the lawyer. He wants to get divorced out of the country? Yikes. That sounds complicated.

As your lawyer, I advise you not to post any personal shit on this site, a lot of people talk. Just warning you. You're a good person Nan. Also, you need legal assistance. That's the first step.

How much are you billing me for that advice :worried:
