Should I take steroids?

Do you think its wise to completley cut some things out? Everything has its place in a well balanced diet in moderation? Why would you need to completley 100% stop all dairy intake or bread intake? You couldnt have a little bit of those things? Thats what I read in all the nutrition books I look at. Maybe they werent good ones or what? Im asking not trying to argue. I dont have access to the same type of ppl you do. A lot of the trainers at my gyms are a joke.

HOLY SHIT! those are some GREAT thumbnails

can you post a link or PM me the picture files so I can upload them for you? Us non-plats need to see them, and I'm willing to bet most people this thread should be a wake-up call to are non-plats.

I'm wondering, when you were dieting for your contest, what kind of caloric intake did you have? Was it along the lines of 10-12 calories per pound of bodyweight? (I'm sorry for using the american system of measurement in my question here, but, its what I'm comfortable with) Did you increase your calories with clean food every 72 hours or so?

All my training partners have been men.

Right now I am training with a 19 year old man who REALLY wants to take steroids and almost did a dumb cycle.

I use the term 'training' lightly as in the last week we have started to train together, he has not turned up THREE times.

I also know if I was not there to push him, he wouldn't do things he needs to do like calves.

AND he rarely BLOWS the doors out when we are training

When I started to bodybuild properly, I trained with the biggest, strongest guy in the gym.

He pushed me so much at time I hated him.

He made me cry, there were times I felt like my head would explode from the pressure doing leg press (I have done 400 kg).

I would feel like I would be sick (especially after leg day) and IT HURT, not just while I was training, but sometimes for DAYS after.

I can't remember the last time I ate bread.

I have had no dairy in my diet for three months.

I have weighed food so often and calculated the calories and macronutrients I can rattle off an amazing number of foods off the top of my head.

I keep a record of what I eat when I am dieting, and off season, I keep a running total in my head most days.

And then I hear the young men in the gym talking about going out on the piss, eating fast food (cause they are bulking), and then wondering why they are not keeping their gains from their last cycle.

My point is DON'T TAKE THE DRUGS UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO WALK THE WALK.

Everything has to be in check, otherwise you will just be getting all the sides and long and short term effects without anything PERMANENT.

whats so bad about dairy? i drink like a gallon of skim milk a day and i think its great for you ive never had a broken bone in my life and never had a cavity...i guess if ur dieting down to do a competition milk will bloat you but if ur just tryin to look good nothin is wrong with dairy products

I agree with 95% of your post. you seem to be intelligent but I do have to disagree with the numbers you post for the bar to start using. Some people do not train for strength and or power. some train to look good, feel good and get into shape. you dont need to deadlift 350lbs and squat what you say to be a candidate for steroids.

I dont think 21 is a good age to start using. still too young even if you are going to compete. At teh youngest 25 and thats if you have been training for the past 10 years and have hit a plateu that you cant overcome with diet and or changing your routine.

As we all know steroids are not that bad if used in moderation and proper cycleing with proper PCT - post cycle therapy - . One can take 250-500mg test weekly safley for the rest of his life for hrt if one chooses. sure there are gunna be some sides like increase in cholesterol blah blah blah which can all be counter acted. you can increase your cholesterol just as much naturally with a lot of these bobybuilding diets.

I agree taking alot of shit is dangerous but taking alot of shit of anything is dangerous. even OTC stuff and MD prescribed drugs. From your posts I have seen you seem almost anti steroids and maybe its just me and may be wrong. if so i will change my veiw.

But i do have to admit for someone that is all natty I got a lil wood looking at your pics. i do have to give you props for your hard work. i admire that. Job well done!!

My avatar took a lot of work and dedication to get that look. I am thinking of adding some adex for bloat.

I am on a comp diet so no dairy.

My coach says 'Dairy makes you look soft"

Arnie says "Milk is for babies"

I am on a competition diet, it is quite different than most people's 'cutting diets'.

Most bread today is just junk, if you read the labels you will see most even have sugar in them.

Generally, off season, bread is more of a 'cheat' for me. I do eat wheat in the form of wheat flakes or wheat berries, and my morning oats is a combo of oat, rye, barley, quinoa, wheat, spelt, kamut and brown rice flakes.

For calcium, there are other foods that are high in calcium. Cows do not MAKE calcium, they get it in their food supply. I eat a lot of seeds (in particular sesame seeds are REALLY high in calcium, as is broccolli).

I also use seaweed and sea vegetables.

I have been studying diet and nutrition for AGES, I started out as a vegetarian, so replacing the essential nutrients found in meat, (and dairy as I have also been vegan) was really important.

I base my diet on a combination of macrobiotics (traditional Japanese cooking), happy hippy granola crunchy style, and bodybuilding (really Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle had a HUGE impact on my dieting habits).

I use the Katch-McArdle basal metabolic rate equation to figure out how many calories I need a day based on my lean body tissue and activity levels.

Usually, it is around 1700-1800 kcals/day, it increases as my bodyfat decreases.

Right now I am doing a low carb diet, four days low and then a re-feed where my calories, mostly from carbs, goes up.

I do have some pics on myspace, it is under my name, and on facebook, AND I do have pics on an MSN webspace, I would have to find it again :)
