Short1 - Bodybuilding Competition Log

the-short-one said:
wouldn't you know it, some yahoo stood up in front of jeff's camera just as I was doing the thigh wiggle thing. I practiced that sucker for about 1/2 hour before getting on stage. lolol

You could still see some of it tho!! Great addition to the routine!!

You look great girl, truly amazing!! Hope you enjoyed yourself & the food and I am SO looking forward to the next part of your journey!!

BTW - did you get any feedback?? What'd they say?

Congrats! :) You looked awesome, and even better then that, you looked like you were having fun.

Same as Jen - did the judges say anything to you? Advice? Suggestions?

Bump on the feebback would love to hear why the girl in pink was placed over you for over all. Doing the manditories she was so not into it compared to you hard to tell conditioning from the video in her pics she looked good but not as good as you IMO,

Wow. Incredible, and looked even more in charge at the nite show.

The ONLY thing the girl in pink had on you was a little better conditioning in the rear & hammies. She has good symmetry but I'm not real excited about her calves. You can just tell her shape is more runner-ish than BB-ish. Against her though - completely uninspired posing, not much quality at all, didn't smile as far as I could see, absolutely no connection to the audience. Her boobage was a little scary too - like too wide & too big. If the judges are being completely objective they were going on her conditioning -like I said before - if you can show ham detail on a female, that will stand out.

Aside from all that -you definitely BROUGHT IT, played to the audience, owned the stage, looked happy to be there and helped make their night better.

Congrats to the whole team on an successful endeavor!

Jamie - thx so much for the additional videos -- man that pose down --- that chick was like the background music - just sort of a hum in the static... her posign basically made her sort of irrelevant to the whole point of a pose down....

And yess, kick that guy in the nutz who stood up during the quad shake & lock. Screw him.

If that guy only knew how many angry people want to smack him... lol
Thanks as well JL, those were great.. I see you made her come to you... lolm NICE...
as far as presentation... I agree with sass completely, she was just lacking the spark that you have... wasn't there.

Congrats on the NQ girl!!

(nationally qualified)

I was there with you at that mexican rest. :chomp:

LOL well I was looking back on the pix -- chica your back just exploded in the night show! The pink girl does actually have really nice conditioning and that's probably what won it for her. But she does have that type of body.

Anyway -- definitely off to the national level....

I think that her youth helped the girl with her tightness and conditioning. It's just that shade harder for an old broad to get that extra hint of tightness and I think that's what gave her the decision.

One thing I noticed from the movies is how well you move. You need to work on your transitions between poses but your grace of movement shines out.

You looked Amazing!! My hubby and I were up waiting for the final judgement on overall. The only thing that she had on you was the hams/glutes being tighter. I agree w/the others on her presentation,Boring!!

You def. had the personality & enthusiasm that she was lacking. Your smile and ease on stage was great!! I think your going do well at the Nationals :)

I had mexican food. Ordered the sampler plate from Chevy's. lol I made it through 2 enchiladas, 1 tamale and 1 chili rellano before quitting. :D

I feel good this morning.

Off to see San Diego - going to th boardwalk. I'll catch up with you later.

...and I agree about the hammys/glutes. It's OK, tho - I'll get it right next time.

I agree that the lw was more conditioned but you totally out posed her. You never know if the judges want fullness or shreaded girls? The key imo is achieving the goal you set out for and looking the best you can. You won in my book. Great job to you, and Shadow! Can't wait to see the next prep!

I just got home not too long ago, I was out of town all day yesterday!!! My priorities were hug my husband, and turn on the computer and see how you did.

Shortie, you looked so fucking awesome on that stage!!! You've got charisma girl, you've got presence, you really looked like you were having a good time, and I never would have guessed, by looking, that it was your first comp, I'm totally serious.

Hope you got a margarita to go with that mexican food! :qt:

or a pitcher :)

I agree with you MM ...

no drinks. I haven't had one for so long, it would put me under the table. Especially being dehydrated. lolol

"look! there's Sally on the floor." :D

Any plans yet for the upcoming season, shows etc?

I felt really good this moring, but like a beached whale last night. :D I din't bloat or anything from cheating. Water was very minimal yesterday, so I took it easy last night and didn't drink a bunch of water after the show. I had 2 glasses of iced tea and a bottle of water before bed. Woke up at 3am thirsty, so drank 1/2 a bottle of water and went back to bed.

Woke up this morning - looked and felt good. Had a cup of coffee and a glass of iced tea with a crab and avacoado omelette ;) - and I've been drinking water all day. We went down to the boardwalk and I had an icecream cone and some more water. Tonight, we're eating at Benihanas. Jeff's never been there, so I'm buying him dinner. Tomorrow morning, I'll be eating oatmeal. I'm already sick of junk food. lolol

I don't know what show to do yet. My options are (I think) to either:

1. wait a year and do the Arnold Amatuer. This would give me time to add some muscle.

or

2. I can take a short break and start cutting again for the USA's end of July. If I keep my weight down for the next month or so (by that I mean gaining maybe only 5 pounds back), cutting should be easy. I'd have to get really shredded to do that show - but I think I'd still come in as a light heavy.

Weight classes are as follows:

light = 115 and under
middle = 116 - 125
light heavy = 126 - 140
heavy = over 140

Shadow and I have talked about his - and I don't think I can get down below 125 without losing muscle.

Now that I know (sort of) what I'm doing, I have a much better understanding of what I need to look like. I know the USA's are TOUGH. I don't expect to win or even come in the top 5. (lol) - but I'd like to see how I stack up.

...and like I said, I could always wait until next year. I plan on discussing this with Shadow.

-------

Jeff has already given to go for either. I've talked this over with him and told him that it's not my decision alone - I kind of look at us as a team. My relationship/home life comes first. I told him that if he needed a break ( :D ), I'd wait...but he said he'd like to see me do the USA's. So.....

That's a great outlook!!

Congratulations!! U look hotter than (*(^! More than words can express! I love your shoulders and arms especially. WOW!
OUtta curiosity..i read a while back that you use melanotan. I got some myself and use a full syringe of a diabetic needle for the first time...NOt realizing I should have only done half. I felt sick to my stomach for a little while and the injection site still hurts. I never did another after that. I inject vitmamins and growth and have never had a sore spot like that. Have you had a similiar sides? I was to scared to do it again and have bottles Ahhh!

Wow I just watched the videos, i just had chills watching them how exciting that must be!!!! You looked great really great

Hey hey hey!!

Congrats on 1st place girl! Wheres the pics of you and your trophy?

You owned that stage girl. Those judges were friggin blind. How could they pick that other girl for overall and not you? She didn't pose for crap! Not a smile on her face, ever during the posedown. I just don't get it. You look like you've been on that stage a million times and you were teaching them how to do it! ;)

Again, Congrats! Looking forward to your new log...TSO's road to the USA'S!!!

Can you do the USAs and then take the break to prepare for Arnold? I know that would only give a few months to add muscle, and still give sufficient time to cut. Might be cutting it close, but you have such a fantastic muscular base and proportions, a just few lbs would make a dramatic impact. IMO.

If you cut for USAs, you would have Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb (is Arnold still end of Feb/early Mar?) to build, then shred :) I'd like to watch you do it, but HEY, it ain't my body! ;)

Regardless, good luck on whatever you choose .... you'll do it balls to the wall and look phenominal in the end.

Much love girl.... You looked fantastic, you owned the stage! You have found your niche. :rose:

oh... who made your suit? I'm looking for next year.

yeah - that would be a possibility, too. I guess the big question right now is - am I ready for the USA's?

I'm heading out today - so will catch up with you beautiful people later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Sweets I have no question in my mind that you are ready your posing and stage presents is outstanding! My only concern is your body can it continue like this? You seem to hold a lower bf % very well which is a postive for back to back preps.

I think everything has been said that I was thinking. lol
You looked amazing, loved the suit....I don't know a thing about these contest but the other girl just looked bored and watching you ... lol
You would have my vote hands down. You were just more fun to watch even.
I had no doubts...Have I told you lately "you rock!!" :)

The USA's is a long break, you can do it. Don't drop too much. A friend of ours did that and went to lhw and it was a failed experiment, (Roxie from Mayhem).

That will give HT and I a reason to come to the USA's again! Last year we rented a house. Lots of room! I have some good pics of the heavies from last year if you'd like.....

Diet for the next week.

We went out to breakfast on Sunday morning and ran into one of the judges - a pro-bodybuilder who judges all the west coast NPC events and national events for John Lindsay.

He told me that it was so close. If I'd have come in leaner, I would have won, no problem. I asked him if there was anything else I could improve on - and he told me that besides adding muscle to be able to compete at a higher level - no. He said my symmetry was great. Just work on building my upper body and keeping my legs in check. lol

well congrats hon.....seeing as you haven't come to C&C at all today to accept your accolades, I'll do it here....<sniffle sniffle>
LOL, you looked awesome........and that was just your first comp....wow!!! K for you!

I did. :D

I bought a suit from cherry bombs and put my own sparklies on it. Total cost = $65.

omg... hook a chick up with some links dammit... my suits cost 10x's that for my comp.

I bought the crystals from wal-mart - believe it or not. They have the flat back kind with adhesive on them. Buy a wood burner tool for $9.00 and use it to apply each crystal. the stuff on the back melts an it sticks to the suit. Crystals were $9.00 for 200. Wood burner tool = $9.00 Suit was from http://www.cherrybombs.net/ . I bought a black velvet suit that had gold/silver glitter on it.

I think the price of suits is outrageous. It already costs a damn fortune to compete. If you're doing figure and need a one piece, I could see where you'd need to have one fitted for your torso - but you could still get a plain one and decorate it yourself. It took me maybe 3 hours to decorate it. Now that I now what I'm doing, it will take less time.

I think we wear the same size bra - I ordered a XL top and a small bottom. You might need an XS bottom.

TSO that is awesome...

Frisky your suits were gorgeous though

TSO I really liked what you did with yours... everything just clicked

Fantastic news!!!

That is exactly what we wanted to present - a symetrical, lean package.

......I wonder how many shows the other girl has been in.

Getting leaner in the legs gets easier each time out.

So....I have thought it over and I am going to let you decide where to go next.

If you want some time off from competition and let the diet get a bit loose and focus on mass - then we will do that.

If you want to do another show in 3-4 months...I think that is dobale as well.

I think that hitting a later summer/early fall show is the way to go for you, but I will of course, help you to do whatever you choose.

This was just the first step....

I checked out the pics in the link that was provided by Flo. On the other girls comp history, it listed 2 others. And I think the other girl looked OLD. As in skin complexion old. Eww!

i noticed something interesting about boob jobs and bb while in San Diego. The women who had their implants under the muscle - the implants made their pecs look larger. I guess that makes sense - pushes them out. I also noticed that it moved their boobs to the sides.

damn, the more I look at those pics the more it makes me sick. You spent how many hours practicing your posing routine? That woman can't stike it to save her life. No makeup and her hair is a mess in every pic I've seen. lol

You DESERVED the overall win but hey, there's always next time ;)

If only my friends had been the judges. :D lol

No - she beat me. They were looking for lean booties. She was a leaner all the way around. There was a HUGE difference between how she looked at pre-judging and at night. I saw her on stage doing her (boring lolol) routine and I couldn't believe how great she looked.

I'll offer to be a judge at your next comp then. lol

Shouldn't a big part of the score be posing and routine? I mean, damn, she SUCKED!! lol sorry to be so negative towards her but she could of at least looked like she wanted to be there. Looks like someone punished her and told her to get her ass on the stage.

I, too - was uner the assumption that it hurt your scoring if you couldn't pose. Apparently not. :D

...or - she just looked s much better conditioning wise that it didn't matter.

If its a relatively objective judging panel (i.e. no one is blowing the judge  ) they will always look at the physique first - conditioning, symmetry, etc. For women, particularly w/ this weirdness about how "hard" you are supposed to be, they will look for detail in those places that are hardest for women to cut up - hams & glutes. That just stands out a lot.

It would be great if they considered the whole package but at the end of the day it is a BODY BUILDING contest. Not a posing contest.
