Shedding Hair Like Crazy

Hey Bros

So I'm 38 and have always had a pretty good head of hair. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that I'm shedding hair like crazy on the top and back of my head. My dad has thin hair but everyone on my mom's side of the family has really thick hair - as does my older brother. I've never done a cycle - the closest thing to it is that my spine doc put me on test creme about 3 months. I only used it for 5 days before getting gyno symptoms and discontinued use immediately. Also, I've been taking Paxil for about the last 9 months which causes hair loss in about 1% of cases.

Could the test have triggered some shedding that I'm just now starting to notice? Will my hair grow back or will I continue to go bald?

Any advice would be appreciated.

you should be fine... hair growth / loss has a long cycle... also, they say your mom's side is usually a good indicator... you might have had a buildup of dht in your scalp during that 3-month test period... you could try getting one of those anti-dht shampoos, but my guess is you'll be ok

sort of... I never had a shedding problem until my last cycle almost 2 years ago... everything seemed to go to hell at that point... gyno, shedding, etc... even prohormones did that to me (which is to be expected)... I went crazy buying minoxidal, shampoos, etc... but what I came to realize is that minoxidal only works while you use it, when you stop, whatever hair it grows will fall out... and it only works for certain types of hairloss (genetic hairloss), which occurs in the center/vortex of the scalp.. also, as I mentioned, the hair loss and regrowth cycle is slow, and occurs over a period of time... so even though the shedding goes on for a while, it doesn't mean you're losing new hair, you're probably losing old hair that would've fallen out on its own eventually (only the test sped up that process)

Hey try some toco-8 bro. I used it at a single dose a day and i swear it helped my hair! I only had slight receeding but it has filled back in. Its good for you too while a lot of perscripion hair meds are not.

It does not only work for the top, it is growing me hair on the front right now.

The dht conversion from testosterone will make you lose your hair quicker if you're prone to baldness.

I'm the first male in my family to be losing my hair (started before the roids). I have no history of baldness in my family, but there's a good chance I'm illegitimate (whole nother story).

Steroids seem to accelerate it a bit, but I'm not too worried. I keep my hair cut very short and I intend to shave it off entirely when it gets anywhere near that retarded horseshoe look. I never fathom why people keep their remaining hair at that point. A bald head will look better than a horseshoe on ANYONE!

Yes, it's the test. No, you won't get it back. Keep juicing and the hair will keep falling out.

I read on seveal boards if you want to block DHT locally (safer than Propecia) you can use Nizoral shampoo - just let it sit on your scalp for 10-15 minutes. The 2% is the good stuff.

Ripped this post from another site a while back and I am trying this now. Seems to be working but it could all be in my head (pun intended):

Hair loss prevention?
Ok:

-Order the Nizoral shampoo, 100mg tabs of spironolactone, and Azelaic Acid cream
-empty 50ml of the shampoo (one bottle) into a bowl, and microwave for 20 secs
-crush 1gram of the spironolactone tabs (1 package of the 100mg tabs) into a FINE powder, and mix into the warm shampoo.
-Microwave again for 20 secs
-add in 1 tube of the azelaic acid cream and stir
-microwave for 15 secs
-add in 50 more ml of shampoo
-wait a moment, then microwave again for another 15 seconds
-Stir

Use this in the shower EOD. Wash with regular shampoo first, then put the mixture on for about 5 minutes and rinse. Do not get in your eyes, as the spironolactone is a STRONG Anti-Androgen.

This is a topical solution to blocking DHT and DHT related AAS from the hair follicle, in addition to regrowing new hair
