Rotator Cuff...any hope for me? :(

Doctor has referred me to physio for long standing shoulder pain (pain down outside of the arm from shoulder to about half way down arm).

Says he is confident it's rotator cuff damage which came about years before while lifting and in all likelihood I will be advised to quit weightlifting for the forseeable future if not ever.

I've had it for years and it's been nightmare to work out cos of constant nagging f***Ing pain.

Anybody else experienced this injury?

Being a hard gainer, it was hard enough for me without an injury!!!!

Is there hope, any point in me continuing?

Any thoughts appreciated :(

Had it and its a bitch, gh - growth hormone (somatropin) - and Deca-Durabolin - nandrolone decanoate - did me just fine

I am not sure how this could work really, as from what i have read, the rotator cuff doesn't heal on it's own, it requires surgery.

Hey bro,
I tore the 2 center mass muscles of my rotator cuff and detached
the bicep. I had surgery at the end of november, had 8 titanium anchors, metal cords and mesh all "installed" in my shoulder.
I had a great doctor/staff do the operation and pt.
Best thing I did, I have full range of motion, my shoulder looks pretty decent, and my strength is coming back.
the whole thing sucks but no more pain, i can actually sleep at night.
key is a good sports doc!
good luck man

Parts of the rotator cuff consist of tendons bursa bones and muscle. All of these are capable of healing. I think the suggestion of gh and deca aren't bad, they both inrease collogen sythesis. I've read medical studies that suggest that deca can also aid in increases bone density/strength. However if you have impingment rather that a tear it may not do you much good. By making you tendons stronger you of course decrease the potential for injury and swelling which may aid in impingement too. Don't loose hope, your mental strength might just be what you need to overcome this.
