Religious Right trying to take over county fair. I made another scene....

rsnoble-im-back said:
Couldn't fucking believe it. Went to the fair last night to chow down on corn dogs and funnel cake and there they are. Several chow boths from the religious fucks of the area all clustered around a goddamn GOP tent. We avoided them and on our way out of the food court area some fuck next to the GOP tent tried handing me a small bible. I asked him if it included a handful of bullets and that his god Bush could suck my goddamn fucking dick. He was speechless and my wife grabbed my arm and headed me off lucky for him. Oh man was I pissed.

Then when we walked to the other end of the fair there was a large barn that is normally ran by another local church(I live in an area that is one of the US's most populated church/population ratio) and it was taken over by...........none other than........."HempHill Smokers BBQ!" proudly displaying their slogan "If you ain't smokin, you ain't livin!". YES!!! Thank you Lord! There is a god afterall!!!!!!!
do not get emotional about this. i can hear the venom in your post. rather read "why i am not a christian" by bertrand russell when you finish that read daniel dennett. nail down those arguments and study the INTELLIGENT christian apologist kirkegaard. dont just rail against these people. they are operating out of emotion and not logic or reason. when you do so you are just like them. educate yourself and arm yourself with reason and science. get out and vote for candidates who are darwinian.(read intelligent) these ppl are dangerous and we must not relent.im sayin dont play their game.

Lots of capitulation now that it is a real possibility, huh?

All those boys over there have families and dogs and hopes and dreams of the future.

Yeah, and I felt great about things after serving 18 months in Iraq and 14 in Afghanistan. That's why I get a lump in my throat when I hear what the ignorant libs have to say.

you don't know me or my situation
do you think it is easy to enlist and give up everything that i have worked for these last few yrs since graduating? leaving my family and dog? it's not, it's racked my brain for months now
if you cared to search my threads you would see that i have thought about this and asked advice.
it's not something i'm just gonna go out and do, i'm fuggin 29 yrs old, not a typical enlistee fresh outta high school. I don't jump into major situations without analyzing every little detail...maybe that is a bad trait, i dunno.
but i'm not 100% committed, if i feel that i am ready and that it is my best option i will consider it.

I dont HAVE TO know you or your situation.

Either you will do it or you wont. Dont go dropping it lightly as if this will somehow make your political convictions *more right* than those of anyone else.

Just like you said to me, "If you don't like this country (meaning the US) then fucking leave." My sister is leaving FOR GOOD on 23 AUGUST. As soon as I can I will leave WITH MY CHILDREN but I will make DAMNED SURE that there will be *some* positive changes for EVERYONE HERE before I go.

See, I have NO PROBLEM backing myself up as I do not make it a habit to write checks with my mouth that my ass can not cash.

Point is, we are ALL wrong at some point in time. Anyone who is NEVER wrong never has an opinion ergo - no brain. Me I'd rather be wrong SOME of the time and have something to contribute MOST of the time.

Just learn to eat a little humble pie on occasion. It doesn't make you weaker, darlin... makes you stronger to be able to expose a weakness as it garners respect from your peers.

Being anti-war doesn't make us anti-troops. I hate that argument. I take my hat off to the poor ladies and fellas for doing their duty. I think their lives are being risked for less than a noble cause, is all.

I was NEVER anti-troop. I am ANTI-WAR.

Some dumbass broad tried pulling that shit with me when I was anti-war back before it was popular to be anti-bush (go figure, I was a visionary then too huh).

Her logic?

WARRIOR is part of WAR. So if I am anti-war then that automatically anti-warrior = anti-troop. God was she dumb.

Anyway, my husband is a veteran he NEVER talks of his service unless I bring it up. He is too proud. And his country did NOT honor him for his service, but spat on him and poured piss on him.... And yet he harbors no resentment for people who were blinded by propoganda. They were helpless weak-minded sheep who didnt have a fucking clue how their government manipulated them.

Whenever he speaks w/another veteran or soldier who was in during peace he ALWAYS thanks them for their service as I do as well.

I have ALWAYS been appreciative of those who have defended the US (I was born here, so I am citizen by default) but that does NOT MEAN that I am pro-war... I am not and never will be until an opposing force shows up on MY doorstep. Then we will have no choice. Anything other than that is just the US trying to control whatever resources they want. Nothing wrong with that, but for fuck's sake - call it what it is. Dont give me this "defender of the world" BULLSHIT. Cause if that country aint owning what WE want, fuck the people, let them all kill each other.

I hear that there is a group for people like you. They wear cute little pointy hats, too.

HR, BM et al... while I agree that it is wrong to deny someone basic rights in America due to race, religion, gender, or even sexual orientation; why is it wrong to point out that the PC pendulum has swung too far in the other direction? As a white upper middle class male, I feel that the attempts to ram "affirmative action" to right some wrong of the past down my throat is just wrong. It's life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness not guaranteed handouts to make up for slavery, suffrage, or lack of acceptance in mainstream society for some behaviors. The AFL-CIO does more damage to core American values on a regular basis than anyone in a pointy white hat by their veneer of legitimacy when all they are trying to do is destroy our values and replace them with open borders, a socialist "provider" goverment, enormous taxes on hard working people, and a generally lazy population that does not want to fend for itself but rather depend on handouts. Look at western EU for an example of what we will become.... weak and worthless, afraid to raise a hand to strike down terrorism while they sit around and bitch about working a real 40 hour, or more in many of our cases, work week.

You will get NO ARGUEMENT from me about all the fucking political correctness either. I pointed out on another thread the other day about interracial marriage in the US. Some of the comments made in that article would have been HORRIBLY offensive had they been made by white people in regard to any other race/religion, etc.

There are no easy answers...

We just all have to open our eyes and ears and learn to question and think for ourselves and not be so swayed by all the propoganda.

My grandfather committed suicide after serving in WWII. He fought in the battle of the bulge and came back and had to go to a mental hospital and was left rocking and babbling about "the children."

My other granfather served in Korea and WWII. He died last year and had a full military funeral.

I come from a long line of soldiers. My ancestors can be traced to fighting in the civil war, etc.

Don't come off with that anti-troop bullshit. That is so stupid.

Anyone who doesn't support bush must automatically hate the enlisted men and women and hope they all die over there, right? Get a better argument.
