Question for you Colorado folks

Does anyone have any suggestions for gyms other than 24hr or Ballys in the Denver area?? I've had memberships to both of them and just don't care for them. Too many people trying to get laid, rather than lifting.

Thanks all.

JM

im in the same boat man, i just stopped by a 24hr fitness today and got a trial membership. Im currently @ Goodsen Rec Center on Arapahoe, weight room is weak which is anything but ideal..
i think 24hr fitness/Ballys are basically buying all the mom and pop type gyms now-a-days. (Gold's /World too)

I'm also looking for a new one. I live downtown and finding something thats not far away is tough. I'm currently at the Athletic Center at Denver Place and I hate it. Let me know what you find.

I think it depends somewhat on which 24Hour you go to....I have a membership there, and I've gone to two locations in the past that I didn't like, but I'm really happy at the gym at Lowry. It's starting to get a little more crowded as more people join, but I don't feel like I'm walking into a meatmarket like at some of the other locations. I can get in a serious workout there without having to wait for equipment.

I currently train at better bodies in west minster, I know there are a couple more locations in denver like lakewood and aurora. Pretty solid gym although not really set up for powerlifting. Cheaper than 24hr, lot's of great equipment, and not as corporate minded (not shoving personal trainers at you). If you are into powerlifting check out the rocky mountain lifting club in aurora.

Cheers,
Scotsman
