how much cardio do you do?

I know there are varying opinions about cardio, but I'm really interested in hearing from guys who have managed to get shredded.

I've done btwn 30-60min 3-7 days/wk, but I can't seem to get below 8%. My diet is extremely clean (oats, broccoli, chicken, brown rice, lentils, protein powder and omega supplements).

I'm at 7.5%

Cardio? Bwahahahahahahaha........j/k

None at the moment. Have to let my shoulder heal after my mountain biking incident.

One that's healed...1 week or so. Ever Fri, Sat, Sun. At least 4-5hrs at a pop.
 
id say i am at 8 now...just dieting as for now no cardio..


but soon will start again but not the cosmetic cardio more sprinting and getting my ass in gear this summer
 
Besides, summer is for fun style cardio, not monotnous boring incline/normal stationary bikes.

Damn, those things should be banned.

So, Fonz, you normally do 4-5hours of cardio three days in a row??

and Tiger88, how often do you run sprints? and for how long?

sprints well actually get my ass back in gear for track if i can behave and pass a few drugs test :rolleyes:



work more on explosive drills, timing, form and stride so it varies and what i do is more a personall routine then a general run.. etc
 
I'm about 8% right now and I did none to get here. I did diet for 7 weeks and have been able to stay there now with no cardio. Technically, I went in and did cardio exactly twice for 30 minutes at low intensity over the course of those 7 weeks. The trick for me was getting to know my body and how to play around with nutrition and diet. I tried to drop 1% bodyfat with each of my last few cycles and keep it off. It's been working so far but I have to diet for longer and at a lower caloric intake now to keep getting leaner. I imagine it's only going to get harder too which I'm not looking forward to.
 
I think it is an individual thing. Some guys can manipulate diet and drop body fat. Others need cardio. I have talked to IFBB pros that never do cardio and those that are religious about it.

For me to get below 8%, I have to do cardio. I have found that 40 minutes in the Am on an empty stomach at 70% heart rate works well and has little deleterious effect on my evening work-outs. I also, do not like to drop below 215 lbs, so I would rather do additional cardio to allow me to eat more. If I drop calories too much my body usually cannibalizes my shoulders and arms.

You have to find what works for you. I tried to do the zero cardio route and it did not work for me. More activity=Less bodyfat for myself.
