Quad Injection Help Needed

whats worse is pinning your own shoulder and you get a spasm in your opposite lat... holy shit
Done that! When it happened, I wasn't sure if I pulled & cramped the opposite lat, or if I had partially dislocated the shoulder! BAD! Felt like I got stabbed with a sword though the back of the armpit and out through my shoulder. What I do now for rear head delt injections is to hold the syringe like a pencil to stick, then I hold it near the needle end with my thumb & middle finger; pushing the plunger with my pointer finger. That's the only way that works for me, and I can't reach to pin the rear heads at all the same day I work my delts.

There's nothing wrong with hitting the front heads of your delts, as far as I know, but for me they hurt and I often get a bruise.

On quads, I go for midway from the knee to the hip, and straight sideways. There are arteries and nerve branches in the way if you pin in the front of the thigh, or on the back, so the outer side is the only safer way I have been told. It will be sore the next day; no way out of it. Just pin it only once in awhile, and deal with a little soreness. And the way it works for me, the more I pin a certain muscle, the less it hurts after awhile. My rear delts and glutes are totally painless now. I would think that if I did quads more, they'd also get immune to the pain.

Thanks for the tips bro. I did the pin and it went well. I aspirated and no blood but when I pulled the pin it bleed quite a bit compared to glutes. I was more on the front upper part of quad instead of side. Next time Ill do side and see how that works out.

I agree abt the bruising and soreness. I did high enough on the quad that I dont think it will affect my leg workout tonite. Got BIG squats to do.

ok. yea the one time I did quad I was on front about half way up. Looks like if doing that spot best to sit down. I was standing. Might be why I got that nasty nerve twitch.

What about pinning quad on leg day -- ok or not a good idea?

btw - great price on the Jack3d. Ill be ordering from you soon.

Yeah, that's a great price but the shipping rates for that little container are ridiculous. You can get the same price and nearly half the shipping cost through this Jack3d page. Sorry for the offtopic

For quads pin in the outer middle third. You can also do calves, upper outer third. Do your pin sitting. I usually do it in the bathroom sitting on the toilet seat cover. That way if I get a little bit of blood I have the toilet paper handy right there. I would pin after a leg day, more comfortable that way. Go deep and massage after.

Yea I did quad in the bathroom. Didnt draw any blood when I aspirated it but when I pulled pin there was quite a bit so toilet paper came in handy.

Pininng calves has got to hurt like a mofo - yea?

occurred to me some of you might not know what Z-Track is and are too lazy to google it. Here's a pic:

this is some impressive shit bro... this help reduce bleeding since there is no strait in hole for the blood to come out im guessing?

Going to sound dumb I know, but basically I just poke my leg with my finger and where it doesn't hurt, that's where I pin. In the right area of course but I don't plot it out with a compass and protractor or anything. Works really well so far, no bruising, no bleeding:) and best of all no pain!

You got it brother! Keeps the blood and whatever liquid you are injecting in, yes. Keeps the drug in the muscle. A lot of times drugs seeping into the subq layer will cause pain as well. Some drugs also stain the skin.

With AAS, if you can Z-Track it, do it.

Description

To give a Z-track injection, use the non-dominant hand to move and hold the skin and subcutaneous tissue about 1–1.5 in (2.5–3.75 cm) laterally from the injection site. Continue holding the displaced skin and tissue until after the needle is removed. Dart the syringe rapidly into the site at a 90° angle. Aspirate on the syringe to be sure that a blood vessel has not been penetrated. Inject the medication slowly into the muscle. Be sure that the syringe is completely empty, including the air, before withdrawing the syringe. Withdraw the syringe and immediately release the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Best quad advice I have ever heard as begginner.......Put 1 hand against your hip and leg sitting down. The other hand across you knee. Draw an imaginary line on the side of the leg. So what u have between your hands and the imaginary line is the absolute best spot for injecting quad!!! I always pin under good lighting cause I can usually avoid veins from the get go. Never drawed blood from this method. Sorry i dont have a visual to go wit it.
