Protein Bars and Knee Question

Two completely different things here, but I figured I'd put them in the same thread.

Firstly, protein bars. How do you guys feel about them? I was thinking of using them rather than a shake for bringing to school. Shakes still dominate post-workout, since they're most cost-effective and I believe digest quicker, yes?

Anyway, I found a bar that's like 2.69 at Netrition and has 31 grams of protein, 270 calories and no sugar carbs. It seems pretty good, but it is costly. Any input? Now that I look at the cost, I may be much better dealing with carrying around a thermos and drinking my shake...

And the knee thing... I did SL deads the other night for my first time. My form was descent, but I know what I have to do to fix it. Anyway, the day after (yesterday) at night I was stretching my hams (toe touching) with knees buckled (as I've always done that stretch) and felt a twinging pain in my right knee. I normally would keep pushing my stretch to fight through the pain, but I figured best not to aggravate it. Could it have been because of my poor form? Anything to worry about? Doesn't hurt me any now...

personally-- I always reach for a shake before a bar. Bars can be very high in sugar althoug the one you mentioned isant-- they have questionable useable protein in them as well as palm, coconut (saturated) oils.

onthe knee pain-- check out www.msm.com ALot of lifters use it for re-occuring joint/ knee problems.

dude you gotta start putting all these protein questions in the diet board, youll probly get more feedback there anyways. run a search on the bars, theres a lot of opinions about them archived away.
