Pro's do this form of cardio

There's lots of misinformation in this thread.

The low-intensity bullshit is exactly that...bullshit. It's something the cardio equipment people "made up" in order to sell their products to fat old lazy bitches who don't want to work hard.

Sitting in your chair right now reading this...you are burning WAAAAAAAAAY more fats than carbs, percentage wise. Does that mean that sitting in your chair is better for losing fat than sprinting? Of course not. The more calories you burn, the more fat you will lose...not matter how it is done...whether it's sprinting, walking, doing summersaults, having buttsex with your boyfriends, or banging your head against the wall.

If you're really concerned with this burning fat bullshit...just do some research and have some tests done by an exercise physiologist and find out where your cross-over point is. That is the intensity where the precent of fat you are burning and the percent of carbs you are burning "cross over" when put on a graph. Then adjust your intensity as you see fit.

But that still won't do shit...it's the fucking calories people...not the intensity.

Whatever bro I agree with Synpax....
Ive been doing morning cardio on an empty stomach for my whole bb career along with several other bros who I garentee would agree with me that it works. I dont give a shit what some study shows Ive read a study that steroids gives you m.s. but it dosent mean its true.

it also depends on your given body type... i know for myself, my body burns up muscle preferably... when i run in the morning i do get lean, but i also lose all my muscle...

an ectomorph (the skinny, naturally rippped guys) can get away with morning cardio, as their bodies typically burn fat before glycogen.

i myself, do WALKING on a empty stomach, as that is the best thing for me besides no cardio at all...

i would definitely not recommend running in the AM empty stomach to someone with less than "good" genetics. (ie, someone who can get lean on anything besides a low carb diet :) )

guldakat: good post.

so, what aare your thoughts??? No cardio?

Of course cardio! I'm a big proponant of cardio...but for different reasons altogether. I like cardio for the heart health purposes.

I'm just saying that cardio is all about the amount of calories you burn...too many people are concerned with substrate utilization IMO. The more calories you burn, the more fat you burn...end of story. You're going to burn some protein no matter how you train, and there will be some catabolism regardless.

Don't think there are short cuts in this game...there never are.

I'm the same way bro........so what's your choice? Bike? Treadmill?

Treadmill. I can't get my heart rate up high enough on the bike. It's hard to push myself hard enough...with the treadmill you have to in order to stay on the damn thing.

It also works more muscles...better for the heart and peripheral vascular system.
