I just look at the weight and tell it to lift itself. Then I head to the water fountain to get a drink and when I return I assume its been done. The pumps are wicked!

Personally, I think flat bench is great if you're competing in PL events...otherwise I don't like it. Better options IMO.

Did you take the AMP02 before looking at th weights?

that's quite a lot

incline flys = yes, holy crap

DC workout

A1- incline hammer
A2- hammer press
A3- incline smith

Bought ready to drop the incline hammer for incline DB.

Fuckin love it. Warm up to a good pump, then ne set to failure, then 2 rest pause sets to failure.

Best program I've ever been on. Tough on the CNS overall, but the low reps makes it so easy on the joints. Plus you hit each bodypart 2x in 8 days.

The only time I do flat bench is when I use a wide grip and bench to the throat which works pretty much for upper chest just like flyes or when I do medium grip presses for inner chest.

Other than that the only thing the flat bench is good for is setting my water bottle on.

Of course! Thats why I spend so much time at the water fountain. Its important to stay hydrated while on AMP02, for maximum results.

That's what I was going to post, wide grip bench to the clavicle .

I do exactly the same x5 sets, minus the decline dumbell press ... (decline = shoulder issues for me).

heavy incline bench and db's has worked the best for me. I only do flat when I'm trying to rep out 225 or after heavy inclines...........also usually trying to rep out 225. I can't even bench 275 without my elbows hurting in some way..........but I can incline well over 300 with NO PROBLEM.......weird.

Lately my favorite done had be.... Low incline DB rest paused for 20-30 reps. 60 second DC stretch to cap it off. Since I started doing the fascia stretching every muscle is more dense and fuller. Especially chest and quads.

Nice. I am doing....

A1 Flat DB
A2 Incline Hammer
A3 Low Incline DB

Something about pushing those DBs and that higher rep range does the trick for me. I love training this way.

man I want to link this thread to weight lifting forum..

so that noodlekeg who thinks mark riptoe is the god of producing muscle and the only way to put on any size with your chest is flat bench press can read this..

though he'd say something like we don't workout! blargh!!! that bish! haha. :)

I'm doing DC Training, so right now my 3 exercises are:

Hammer Incline
Seated Hammer
Incline DB

I train alone and use heavy weights so I have to use exercises where if I don't have a spotter, I won't die. :)

I like inclines for chest exercises. Seen a lot of tears and other injuries from flat benchers. Any type of flies seemed to give me a good pump, but never really lasted. Presses are more efficient and effective. Never really been a fan of decline either.

My next chest exercise (when I can't progress on one of the current ones anymore) will be weighted dips. Looking forward to those again!

But, I believe the thing that's helped my chest most has been fascia stretching. I think this is something that everyone who's been training for say, a year or more, should do.

C'mon that fear of death is what gets you that last rep. :) I've rolled 315 down my torso when i hit muscle failure in the bench. :).

Been there done that. Hurt my shoulder. Took too much time off to recover. Train smarter now...harder too! :)
