Post Workout Drink.

Just thought I'd add some food for thought.Read this in health magazine, looks good to supplement with your gear.


Post workout shake for weight loss:

16oz. ice cold water.
5 grams L-glutamine.
1 scoop whey protein powder- Pro Blend 55.
400 mg. Magnesium citrate.
100mg. Chromium picolinate.
1000mg. Vitamin C


Post workout shake for muscle gain:

16 oz. pineapple juice.
10 grams L-glutamine
2 scoops Pro Blend 55.
400 mg. Magnesium citrate.
100 mg. Chromium picolinate.
1000 mg. Vitamin C

And of course all those good A.S.'s!!
 
What exactly is most important about a "post-workout" shake as opposed to the protein shakes consumed during the day? Something I can look for in the ingredients when looking to purchase a post-workout drink?

you want a high glycemic carb liquid after a workout-this was first advised by dan duchaine and is echoed in gear monster's manual which you can read on this board.
 
Looks good to me but where's the high GI carbs? You can do better than pineapple juice and you should still have some while dieting IMO.
 
is malodextrin high in GI's???? Cause i just bought like 10lbs of the shit from protein factory to mix in with my post workout meals
