Post Cardio Questions

After I complete my running, I plan on taking a whey shake. Now my question is, how long should I wait til I eat my breakfast after consuming my shake. I will probably begin running at about 9 or 9:30 on the morning on a empty stomach. Then take my shake, but how long should I wait to eat my breakfast, which consists of egg whites & oatmeal?

Thats not my question. My question is, should I take a whey shake AFTER I run and if so, how long should I wait til I take it. Then how long should I wait til I eat my breakfast?

Yea bro, Always take your protein after your work outs. Make sure that you take it at least within 45 minutes! Your muscles will need nutrients ASAP to help them recover.

cardio on an empty stomach has no problems what so ever and is most effective for fat loss -

wrong. exercise on an empty stomach has a very catabolic effect on your body- esp if this guy is running at 9:30am. He should at least have a small carb/protein about an hr before.

Read the link that Tom posted- it gives good info on pre-workout nutrition.

msbeverlyhills has it right. It's catabolic to exercise on an empty-stomach. People can get away with it if they're not already at a very low level of bodyfat, but in general it's not a good idea. Whenever I do cardio, it's HIIT, and doing this on a big stomach is certainly a 'no-no'.
