BRo how did you manage to bench 400 in high school. Any special routines you were on?

Wow....don't I feel honored....I busted my ass plain and simple....I was in the weight room everyday after school, and twice a day during football season...I had a great strength coach, who had a huge impact on both my power and stamina....I was a lineman freshman through junior year, senior year I switched to outside linebacker....developed more footspeed etc.... as far as the bench press goes.....it is mostly genetics...while mine is up there....I have seen many people my size who are a lot stronger, deads, and squat, I firmly believe are more impacted by training, then bench, all I can say is bust your ass....do lockouts, negatives, and a lot of 2-3 rep sets.....that is if your ultimate goal is strength, I am over that phase of things.....I may max out once every six months now.....I tend to not let my reps fall below 6-8 anymore....my bench routine now ( or when I get back in the gym when this lat heals:rolleyes: ) is as follows....185 for 20, 225 for 15 (warmup) 315 for 10-12, 365 for 10, 405 for 7-10, and maybe 455 for 6 (depending on how my shoulder feels) I doubt this helps you, but that's the jist of it.......:D

Or this approach might work as well......for added intensity, light the rag on fire...and have chariots of fire playing in the background.....;)
 
pitbull you're an animal. I could never recover from so many days in gym. Right now I am doing one workset, with about 3 basic exercises a day... so 3 sets a day .... 4 days a week. Wish I could train like you and recover :(
