pharm school or dental school?

read what I wrote. pharmacy will die - it's been an over paid/over saturated field for way too long.

i really don't think it will. pharmacists are a lot more than just glorified pill counters despite what most people think.

this. lol @ pyxis. yeah, they use them in hospitals, so? They still have pharmacists in hospitals too. Don't believe what you watch on "Nurse Jackie".

Many pharmacists don't even touch drugs. Many I know work 9-5 in offices and make $100k++. Dentists make more, but samote was pretty spot on. That kid's no dummy.

Everybody's on some fucking prescription drug these days, and the trends are continuing to grow in that direction. Drug companies market directly to the consumer, lol if you think that's going to stop soon. The pharmacist profession will be around for a long long time (forever). So will dentistry. But good luck with that 3.3. Sorry.

1) A 3.3 gpa really limits your options greatly.

2) Pharmacists have a great future because they'll only get more power over time. Thanks to health care "reform", enablers are going to pick-up a lot of new responsibilities which include NPs, PAs and pharms writing prescriptions for a fair number of drugs.

3) Dentists have a great future because our ever-expanding healthcare system will eventually cover teef and every shmoe with a busted grill is going to become a one-person $35,000 stimulus project. Go go meth!

Take it from a Pharmacy Tech..... Pharmacists save a lot of lives correcting the terrible medication errors the "doctors" prescribe.

They do a lot more than Doctors(they are fuckin morons) as far as I'm concerned.

And Pharmacist (and Techs) are ALWAYS in demand so much so that there is a very strong rumor going around that we are about to get a 30% bump in pay across the board.

i have a couple/few dentist clients..they work 4 or 5 days a week and pull down $300,000 +/- (net). I have a number of pharm clients too..the regional managers aren't even making that kinda scratch anymore..and i doubt that the v.p.'s are either.

shit, my dentist clients are making more than most of my doctor clients.

oh..hang on..i wasn't thinking pharmacist, i was thinking pharmaceutical...like the business world...my answer is still the same...i have pharmacist clients, some are even pharm d's, and my dentist clients are still eating their lunch.

and 1/3 of that would be going to malpractice insurance, at least in IL it would be. Is all about what you're willing to deal with i'll say. F that whole business of people squirming in the chair. I don't have the patience for it
