Petpre's turn on Greek Mythology - lifting Olympus(ic)

The cleans looked good to me..On the head position, fixate on a point straight in front of you, just look straight ahead.......I'm not sure what you mean about the hips, you make a movement to squat under the bar which is correct, and you pull yourself underneath, and remain in a good position to front squat. ......you look like you have a good, natural rebend of the knees on both cleans and clean pulls.......if you can be more specific on your concerns with the hips, it would help, but it looked okay.

The clean pulls were good too, they were explosive and snappy, and you finished the pull on them and reached full extension (on both vids).......NO don't slow the bar down with the quads....as you rebend, the bar will brush them, thats fine, so long as you don't knock the bar out forward and off it's upward flight (which u didn't)

Unless, you mean your hips at the catch.....you do go back, which is good, because your shoulders start out in front of the bar and you pull straight up, if your positioning was off, and you were wasting power by not pulling straight, you'd move forward at the catch, which you don't do.....

I couldn't hear on the vid, but make sure those Adistar's SMACK against the floor.

nice lifting man!

I HAVE TO ask... what is that surface you're lifting on? (I like the bouncyness) :)

And maybe I wouldn't crack the concrete floor in the basement if I had it, lol.

Very solid looking lifts.
Your technique on those pulls will look better to you after you get in some more reps. I say this because they reminded me so much of mine: used to pulling to lockout and although you know you're going higher, the CNS misfires it's instructions for that fraction of a second and slows you down.

Funny timing on this article that recently arrived from elitefts- just in time for your journal but as you've already signed up with Pendlay (congrats on that, by the way) it may be counterproductive...

Maybe you could run it by him, see what he thinks vis a vis your schedule. I'd be interested in his opinion also. :evilking:

I am NO cleaning expert, and since T didn't mention it I may be wrong, but your hips seem to be coming up faster than your shoulders, which means you kind of wind up stifflegging it.

I saw it too, lol. Glenn didnt say anything about it. I think he probably wants me to focus on something different first...

Squats
5x5 90kg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV47MBbKwxI

I sticked with the weight since I wasnt given a range I could stick to. I
felt a lot better doing them than last time.

FSquats
5x3 62,5kg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcLriBG-w-o

Tried to keep my head in a neutral position and tried to stay back on my
heels with the weight.

Push Presses
5x5 52,5kg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSQ2fJU22LY

I sticked with the weight b/c they felt heavy the last time. Dont really like
the Push Presses so far b/c reracking the bar feels uncomfy. It is not my
old wrist injury but the sttretch it gives my wrists. I am going to use 55kg
next time or 53kg since I do have these 0.25kg plates too...

DB Bench Press
3x10 DB+15kg each

a little harder than last time but still fairly moderate.

I also used my new webcam which is a pretty slick thing. Only one video
from each exercise this time too.

Power Cleans
6x3 62,5kg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn6P4mgbFq8

sticked with the weight and tried to go into a front squat as seamless as
possible to get my hip down not forward. I felt really good but sometimes
I struggled with balance and had to take a little step backward.
