A guy I sort of work with (he's the company recruiter, although he had nothing to do with my hiring) has been trying to get himself invited to my house since I started working here.

repeatedly.

I've never made any indication that I would invite him, or that I enjoy having people over. So far, he's tried saying:

"Oh, I love your part of the state! I should ride my motorcycle up there and come hang out with you some weekend! That would be fun, wouldn't it? wouldn't we have fun?"

"Your husband sounds cool. Is he cool? I'd love to meet him. I should come up to your place some time and we can hang out."

"Hey. You know what I was just thinking? before the weather gets bad, you should invite me up to your place. we'll bbq. In fact, how about this? *I* will bring all the food. how's that?"

"Oh my god, your dog (picture) is so cute! I would LOVE to play with her! i had a dog just like that growing up. You gotta invite me up so i could play with her."

"Creative people just fascinate me. Hey, do you think the next time you're going to work in your studio, you could let me know and I'll just sit in a corner and watch? you won't even know i'm there. I just want to watch you create something."

"hey, is there a craft show going on near you this weekend? I was thinking of going, but I don't know. I don't know if i want to go alone. And i'm not really sure where it is."

i'm wondering why he's not seeing that his enthusiasm about coming over is not being reciprocated and why he keeps persisting.

omggg

What a weirdo
Stay away from this dude.

oh, i am.

everyone in the office laughs about it because he doesn't try to get invited to anyone else's house. just mine.
and I've never said anything that would make him think it's okay. in fact, i have said a few times that I'm busy on the weekends.

he also has no idea what my husband is like, other than the picture in my office. He doesn't know if he's a raging alcoholic, or has anger management issues or if he even speaks english.

Oh, yes it is esp if you are completely not interested and have point blank came straight out and said it to the persons face. I am so creeped out by this one guy, he just doesn't get it!

I have even been completely ignoring him pretending he doesn't exist and he still doesn't get it. "CLUE" duh...

perception vs, reality, dawlin'!

what he perceives to be just ain't so.

Your house meaning your knickers...

I don't blame him, I heard you are hot but it could just be speculation :D

pics or stfu :chomp:

You could always put him to work.Have him come over and rake leaves or paint something.

lol
my hotness factor should be nullified by the fact that I have never flirted with him and he knows (and has mentioned) that he'd be hanging out with me AND MY HUSBAND if he came over.

in a way, i feel bad because i think he's just lonely and feels like he's persuing a friendship but he should have gien up when he saw it wasn't working. I guess like you guys said- some people only see what they want.

do you blame the guy? you have fabulous feeders, he wants to see where they rest at night time.
100% acceptable

except 2 things.

if he hasn't picked up on the fact that I don't want him coming over, he's not going to pick up when i imply it's time for him to go home.

he wants to come over and smoke some herb, which he doesn't usually do. So i'm pretty sure he'll ride his motorcycle up to my house, smoke, then be too wasted to ride home and i'll have to put him up for the night, and deal with him again in the morning. omg no.

Probably a very out going guy which is why he's a recruiter, no?
Still very weird, seems like only bad things could come of him going to your house.
Seems like such a longshot he would ever ever go there anyway.

I'd say b/c you're too nice and diplomatic in your responses. He still thinks there's a chance. :)

he is outgoing, which is good for his job, but VERY bad at reading people, which doesn't work at all.

He does this strange thing where he sort of falls in love (or 'like') with candidates and doesn't want to show any other resumes to the manager, and then keeps trying to bring that person back in for other positions. It's like he gets fixated on people and i guess i'm one of the lucky ones.

I figured, lol. I've done some recruiting myself and get into as well. I'm not a super creep like this dude, but I can see how he falls into this.

See dude that is really creepy, I think its only funny like if he has no intention to check out you digs, and he just likes fucking with people in trying to make them uncomfortable... I mean I have no problem with watching people fidget in uncomfortable social situations... nothing beats it sometimes, but yeah, it doesn't sound like this is the case. I would keep the fort intact, doesn't sound normal to need so much acceptance.

he just popped into my office and asked me what my maiden name was because now he's super into the whole mongolian race.
Dude... that is like sig material.
Seriously....
'Now he's super into the whole mongolian race'

Of all the things to be eager bout, he's eager bout your obscure ethnicity.
This dude wants some stiletto pie.
Just sayin Queen.

Looks like you can start your cult now, you've got a charter member.
