And he just completed a mini series and is beginning work on another film. If I had cancer , I would be on a beach somewhere..

"I'm going through hell, and I've only seen the beginning of it," Swayze says in interview excerpts posted by ABC.

Swayze, 56, also says that surviving five years is "wishful thinking," but that living two more years "seems likely, if you're going to believe the statistics." And he defines "winning" as "not giving up."

Patrick Swayze Opens Up About Pancreatic Cancer

I coudn't imagine...

Same here and no, you would not just sit around waiting to die. You'd be out doing everything you could running up credit cards.

I'm gonna take a big gamble here, and say that while cancer won't be cured, scientists will lengthen victims lives dramatically one day.

Unfortunately --- these breakthroughs will happen after we're all dead.

:(

any cures for "a" warts on the horizon?

I would be on a beach with a female and I would want the last check I ever wrote to bounce..

Actually, we've got them already. We're just waiting for you to die before we give them out for free.

my friend's Mom just died of Pancreatic cancer - it was horrible - I watched Patrick tonight and wish him the best - cause he's a FIGHTER.....

Peace b with you all in whatever way you pray/talk-to-yourself.....

I shed a few tears

I saw him on a lifetime movie the other night and he looked good ,the movie was taken 2008 and you could never tell he never looked like he even had a sick day in his life!

Thats sad to have the world at your fingertips and then find out you are going to die in a couple of yrs....

I got hit pretty hard a couple of years ago. Lets you know that you aren't in charge of life, only how you look at it.

As far as the whole "beach" topic goes he prob. feels that he needs to act to feel normal and that is prob. giving him the strength to fight thru his cancer.

Survival rates for pancreatic cancer blow. It's almost never discovered before it's metastasized.

And it metastasizes so quickly...living two years with pancreatic cancer is something in and of itself. Usually you're talking about months.

The guy probably loves acting more than most other things in the world.

The reason why Chris Walken is in almost every movie is because he says yes to every offer, schedule permitting. He says he loves what he does so much, why turn down an offer of payment to do it.

Side note: The filmed part of an episode of Beast in my condo building. Swayze is still sexy.

yup prob a film he will never get to finish.. go enjoy the little u have left ..

he was hot in road house

It's so sad to know that you are going to die soon. It's even worse when you are 20 years younger than the average life expectancy. If his acting job makes him happy, I hope that he can continue that until the bitter end. I watched an uncle go through a 5 year battle with colon cancer. They removed the cancer and it came back nearly 5 years later. We had a family reunion to say good bye a few months before he passed away. He had lost so much weight and looked so sick and weak that it was frightening. At the very end he was begging god to take him to heaven because it was just too much suffering to bear.

I hope that when my time runs out that I go quick. As my dad once said, "There's something to be said for a good old heart attack that takes you out quickly".

I think he just wants to live out his life as normal as possible instead of sitting there dwelling on the fact that he is going to die.

I would think that the cancer would be responsible for the pneumonia. You would think that his immune system is very weak

liver cancer will migrate into your lungs

you'll eventually go into a coma where your breathing gets worse by the day

happened to my grandfather, it was the most frightening yet inspiring experience of my life to watch him take his last breath

toward the end he struggled with motor skills, guy couldn't shave himself or stand up

steve jobs has it too, but he has a rare form of it which is highly curable if caught early. it's sad but some cancers always come back and end your life alot sooner than later even if you catch it early. don't ever have friends that are doctors, they tell you shit you really don't want to know.

We all have a limited time, perhaps if we all knew when we would die the planet might be a better place to live or maybe worse depending on the individual.:worried:
